What is the rule of thumb before they call for environmental clean up. I thinks is only one gallon

I have done the same thing...had one of those new, crappy International tractors and I forgot to put the bungee cord on for some reason...needless to say the nozzle popped out and let's just say diesel is VERY slippery, LOL.

 

I always enjoy the free shower I get while fueling next to such truck washes.

 

That diesel fuel will make that Yellow Freight truck a lot shinier than just a soap and water wash.

 

this is my biggest pet peeve out there on the road...I've literally gotten into fights with other drivers because they sprayed me and then had an attitude about it. aside from that is the treacherously slippery fuel island that's left for the next guy.

ATTENTION ALL NEW AND POTENTIALLY NEW DRIVERS! DO NOT USE THE FUEL ISLAND AS A WASH BAY!

I would personally support a ban of having water hoses at the fuel island all together. If I'm not mistaken, the real reason for the water is for radiators not windshields, grills or the entire cab. If you want a clean windshield, learn how to use the washer/squeegee thingamajig properly.

 

If you get a little "hot" cause someone "sprays you down", then chances the problem isn't their aim. I use those hoses to help soften the bugs on the windshield, because many truck stops don't put anything in the buckets other than water, and I use the water again to rinse. But MY pet-peeve is drivers that use the sponge on the squeegee to wash their truck.
