They have the same petty people working In the office as they did 15 years ago that don't care about their drivers or their families or if you have s family emergency all they care about is hauling freight

Miller Truck Lines - Need More Info

I have a cousin that works for Miller. He has worked for them for many years. I do remember many years ago they let him go due to some kinda problems with logs or logbook tickets, I'm not really sure what the deal was. They told him to come back after x ammount of time. He went to work for John Christner for a while. He went back to Miller later, they hired him back and I hear that he is very happy with them. I had some business dealing with them before I started driving and they were good people to deal with. And the do pull flatbeds too.

I drove for them 2004-2007 .They are a decent company . I got paid 38 back in 04 with quarterly bonus. I did have to drive a freightshaker but, at least it was a newer one a 2005. T hey keep their trucks up too. That is if you go to the terminal in stroud. but, if you go to tulsa terminal it's hard to getshop to do anything.They do have a stipulation if you damage the truck or trailers you have to pay for it. It was actually the first company I drove for back in 1983. My truck went 78 miles an hr. in 2007, but they had turned down everybodys truck to 65 I think . That's when I quit.

Flatbed paid .40 cpm when I worked there.

Now, deduct about 10-20% of the miles you actually drive because they will short you on EVERY load. So plan on making 32 to 34 cpm.

Forget about EVER getting detention pay.

Forget about EVER getting Lay-Over pay.

O/O trucks they sell are complete pieces of crap but they are ALWAYS willing to work on them for you. I had an O/O tell me that if his truck broke down in their parking lot he would have his truck towed somewhere else to get it worked on.

Company trucks are ok but you'll go through hell getting it worked on. They'd rather run the bill up on an O/O that bought a truck from them.

Don't ever do a lease purchase from these crooks.

Downtime for repairs is on you. I spent 10 days in a Tulsa hotel with NO PAY while they changed a transmission on a company truck.

They will short change you at EVERY opportunity.

They were completely out of control when it came to logs until the DOT shook them down in 2008. They didn't give a #### about logs. As a company driver I was forced to run legal after the shakedown but I was left sitting a lot while the O/O's came in and took the loads since they didn't have any tracking devices on their trucks and didn't have to run legal.

You will sign your life away in orientation and you won't get copies of anything you sign.

Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Let me give you what I have on Miller. Been with them now 4 yrs going into my 5th in the van/reefer division started at .38cpm STILL at .38CPM 

No layover, No break down, And if you should happen to get them to say you will get either/or make sure you have them send it across the q-comm cause they have a really really short memory and they can't remember how much they said they would pay you. 

Currently you earn 2 days off for every 10 out, don't expect to stay out for 30 days and get 6 days off, they cap it at 4 days off and they WILL try to bully you into only 3 days off. 

3 divisions Van/reefer, tanker (hot and pneumatic), and flatbed 

As stated before van/reefer company drivers started at .38cpm. Tanker pays on percentage sorry don't know what it is. Flatbed pay .40cpm plus tarp pay. 

One week vacation after 1st year 2 week after 2nd year BUT save your anniversary pay cause they do not pay Vacation pay. 

No pay from OKC to Tulsa that's a freebie for them. They were paying a flat rate for loads from Tulsa to DFW and back to Tulsa even if it included going through OKC but that has stopped.

They will ask you to lie to a customer when you have alerted them well in advance that you are going to be late, rather than re-power the load or re-schedule the appointment.

They are on e-logs including O/O due to poor safety rating which is going up now. Fuel all fuel including on the yard must be logged and must match.

True they run alot of older equipment but they do buy new as well (I am in my second new truck.) they got rid of their 08/09 trucks they were lemons

They do not have condo's except for maybe one or two and those I believe are O/O 

They are supposed to be getting about 50 new reefer trailers, since I have been with them they have bought new flat beds twice sorry don't know the number 

True if you want to get work done on your truck take it to Stroud, Tulsa terminal gives preference to flatbed division.

They are putting APU's (used) on most of the company trucks also The new trucks are getting Waeco mini frigs.

True you will pay for at fault accidents, tickets, over weight etc. etc. usually only $50 a pay period but it could be more just depends on the situation.

They do have lease purchase but only on the older equipment.

They will tell you that they do not have dedicated runs (Yes they do but guess you have to do the right people OPPS meant know the right people)

They are currently requesting every one does a 150 mile/3 hr tire check that they want logged.

They have pre-pass and OK pikepass. 

They have finally gotten away from scheduling delivery appointment during your 10 hr DOT break.

They are offering a recruiting bonus $1500 They are getting ready to start fuel bonuses

The grape vine has it that there are some big changes coming in the new year 2014, but I've heard that every since I started. and it may be the fuel bonus

As with ALL trucking companies they have their good points and their bad points. In my own opinion the biggest problem at and with Miller is lack of communication.

You will be told in orientation to CYA. I have gotten to the point that no matter how big or how small the situation that is exactly what I do! 

If I talk to them on the phone I will back it up with a message across the q-comm so that they can not say I did not tell them this or that. 

As well I will also make sure that what ever they told me I confirm across the q-comm so they can not say we didn't say that.
