The camera system in Trucks that watch your every move are distracting & annoying. Needs improvement on management and dispatching

I've been with Badger Daylighting for about 15 months here in Portland. All of our trucks are 2017 and newer, with the newest one being a 2020 "high-rail" for rail use. I am home daily but have plenty of opportunity to work out of town if I elect to do so. Hydrovac trucks are rather complicated machines and require plenty of training to operate competently. Safety at Badger is at the top of the list, it has to be to stay compliant with state and local regulations and to work the big boy jobs of Canada and the US. I like Badger because it is one of those jobs that pays well and satisfies me.

Pros

Satisfying work and a place to call home. Work with the best in the hydrovac industry.

Cons

It's difficult to keep the cab clean of dirt

Badger had their CFO leave in 2019 it appears they might be having financial problems. Managers are ruining the company and they have no sells staff that I am aware of. Operators sit at home a good bit or clean their trucks as the company has no work. They have been firing senior operators for the past 9 months over nothing. The managers have never actually been on a truck for the most part. Badger looks at the Operators like easily replaceable ditch diggers consequently they get kicked off of work sites a good bit because the Operator is incompetent due to inexperience. I wouldn't be surprised to see Badger file bankruptcy and attempt to reorganize. The trucks are out dated you can go buy a hydrovac off the shelf that is superior to the Badger units.

Pros

The Operators are nice people. A few are hard working.

Cons

Bad managers at most levels. Possible financial problems.
