Want to drive for Blachowske? Be prepared for constant slipseating, old equipment, dishonesty about pay, and overweight loads. Do not waste your time working here as an experienced driver.
In the first month of employment I already had a breakdown. There's no scale bypasses, the junky equipment will get you cited if inspected, and you will be slipseated A LOT.
I was slipseating for over a month in trucks that were basically an ashtray on wheels and my first 3 paychecks were around $300. Was finally given my own truck over a month later and told by my dispatcher I'd be delivering lime for $300 per load. It was actually $230 gross. After tax paychecks were $1000-900 a week without even paying for any benefits yet. Way too low for the bad working conditions and health hazards. I can make more money elsewhere without all the nonsense.
They also ran me out of hours while slipseating. I was overweight at the scales a couple days later with a preloaded trailer. Drivers here frequently talk about run-ins with DOT and intentionally running overweight.
Very high turnover. They hire migrant drivers because our currency is worth more overseas. They don't live here.
Double trailer loads don't pay more from what I've heard either.
Shop typically doesn't fix anything unless it's an immobilizing safety hazard. If you write up trailers and equipment for stuff like cracked brake shoes or a bad pressure gauge it just goes ignored.
You'll likely be hired with promises of Rapid City loads, lots of miles, a newer truck, .75cpm equivalent! no slipseating. Sorry, but it's all not true.
I worked here for 2 months. When I decided to leave I gave notice and they terminated employment immediately.
Cons
Short runs, Slipseating, Low pay, Bad equipment, Lying management, Health hazards, Former drivers don't recommend

Be aware that if you dont stay for long, theyll take everything they can and more! Better to just leave truck/trailer at one of yards and leave, dont let them talk you into getting loads to SD then quit
Cons
Pay structure, loads

Terrible loads / load payment. Bad training. Poor management. Less than 1000/week gross for local. OTR was a joke.
Pros
It's a job. Nothing else really to say on the pros.
Cons
Pay, hours, management, resolutions to issues.
