Summary for Black and Blue Transport, LLC Disclaimer: This summary is based on personal experiences and observations. Prospective contractors should consider these points before entering into a contract with Black and Blue Transport, LLC. Black and Blue Transport, LLC markets itself as a family-oriented company offering competitive pay and autonomy to drivers, whether as owner/operators or 1099 independent contractors. However, my experience highlighted significant discrepancies between their promises and reality. 1. Pay and Contracts: Promised high earnings for both owner/operators and "company drivers" are rarely fulfilled. Contracts, including lease completion bonuses and escrow returns, are often not honored. Instances of non-payment for final work periods and withheld escrow funds were common. 2. Vehicle Maintenance and Expenses: Drivers are expected to manage trucks like owner/operators, absorbing financial responsibilities for repairs and maintenance, even for pre-existing issues. Basic amenities, such as air conditioning, are deemed unnecessary and remain unfixed. 3. Work Environment and Treatment: Drivers’ privacy is compromised through the use of inward-facing cameras, with footage often used to mock drivers. Health and well-being are disregarded, with drivers pressured to deliver loads despite illness or exhaustion. Unreasonable expectations, such as violating Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and working seven days a week, lead to dangerous levels of fatigue. 4. Discrimination and Retaliation: Drivers from specific backgrounds reported being unfairly treated, with freight withheld to force resignation. Quitting the company often results in slander, false accusations, and damage to professional reputations. 5. Unprofessional Conduct: Attempts to address payment issues or contractual disputes through official channels are labeled as "unprofessional." Subcontractor freight issues are passed down to drivers, leaving them unpaid while the company shifts blame. Conclusion: While Black and Blue Transport, LLC presents an appealing image, my experience revealed a pattern of dishonesty, unfulfilled promises, and mistreatment. If considering working with this company, thoroughly review their practices, speak with current or former drivers, and proceed with caution.
