My wife and I have been trying to find a place to work where we feel like a person, not a number. The folks here are very friendly and treat you like family. We have told several people that we wish we knew about Coastal a long time ago. We're very happy here. TY John and staff for for the great opportunity to be a part of the Coastal family

Pros

Open door policy is awesome

I've been at Coastal for 12 years. There are several drivers that have more seniority. I'd say a good portion of the drivers are 5 years + employed or leased to/at Coastal. This says alot about the company culture. The equipment is top notch. Getting things fixed on the road has never been a problem. The pay is average and the customer base is consistently good. Broker loads are used as a fill in and not a primary source of loads. The Owner/President actually makes himself available to all drivers. Pay and Home time go hand in hand. Some want to be home alot and some don't. As far as Coastal being perfect, it's not. But in 38 years OTR it's the closest I've ever come across.

Pros

Equipment. Dispatch. Hometime.

Cons

Growing pains.

The company shop is the only place you are allowed to get work done, even if you lease or have your own truck. The shop overcharges, takes forever, and bills for work they didn't do. Your miles drop constantly so budgeting is impossible. Office employees lie and make promise they can't keep. If you quit and don't owe them anything then they will hold your final check and money in any account with them for two weeks and then mail a check. Their checks take forever to deposit because they have bounced checks on their banking history. You are sometimes required to move loads at an illegal weight and sometimes haul illegal products not on your paperwork. You get nickel and dimed in every way possible. No matter what position you have, you will lose money. Kindness, favors, and self control get you no where nor rewarded. Home time never happens on schedule. You will arrive home later than you asked for 2 weeks in advance or sometimes 4 days earlier than you requested. You will be told there are very few load to get you back to work. If you live in a southern state you won't see your house very often.

Pros

They will hire anyone for office work!

Cons

Everything
