second time First Choice transport as a company driver forgot the lessons learn. You will have have a camera in your truck and it does not miss a flag! It's snitching the whole trip? I'm old school so that truck snitch I don't even care about that's for your new generation I'm out there to make money I have never had an accident I've been doing this for 36 years now but the new generation they need to be molded they need to be bird-dogged all the time and pushed I guess???? anyway to the long and short of being a (company driver in a First Choice transport ???? their company trucks are also lease trucks that the company pays the lease on instead of the driver. You understand?? So unlike an owner operator or a company least driver you will be pushed!!! leaned on!!! to work all the days in your 70 Hr.clock. You fall closer to a 34-hour reset time off t Because the lease on that company truck your going be driving has to be paid, Guess by who????? First Choice also gives their customers 4 hours total of the drivers time for free!!! on each and every load 2 hours on each end I would say somewhere around 75% of their customers eat up those four hours yes on each end after 2 hours you get detention pay but driver that's not a windfall as they are eating up your DriveTime and that is the only place that you're really going to be making money and they are eating that up along with your 70-hour clock so if they can't get somewhere around 2500 to 3000 miles a week out of a company driver they are overextended. In short they're not making a profit off of you!! the first time I work for them it was $0.50 a mile I was running two times a week to Denver and back that is 3000 MI I would get home after the first run for a 10 to 15 hour reset go run to Denver again and back and get two days home but what they do not tell you is the bad stuff only the good things when you're getting hired just like any other company you cannot fault them for that I quit them over that because there was a lot of miles that were not being paid for so when I would turn in 3300 miles they would pay me for 2900 miles that does not seem awfully bad until you add that up for a month I just couldn't seem to get over it and quit. Watching them on Craigslist over the past two years I saw that they claimed they had a pay increase and new routes.note the first time I had little-to-no detention time to speak of still I have little tolerance for b******* that's just me. So I called them ,two and a half months ago and was asking them about the new pay increase and the routes. I was told that they pay company drivers $0.65 a mile and they did have new routes but they still had a lot of the old routes so I added up $0.65 a mile * 3000 Miles because that's what I was running last time and I'm thinking this is the place to retire at finally after 36 years I found my golden goose egg so I put in my application and true to their word they have you hired on within a couple of days when I got my first paycheck from the first week I work my wife called me and said it's not $0.65 a mile it's still $0.50 a mile she said I heard you asking them on the phone a couple times was it $0.65 a mile why would they lie to you like that needless to say I believe I was in Denver or Utah when she gave me that information and I was a little upset to say the least so I called and checked why it wasn't $0.65 a mile like I was told she talked to the owner .and the owner said that it would be coming out real soon that they were going to increase it $0.10 a mile I asked where is the other $0.05 needless to say they did raise the mile pay to $0.60 a mile and there is a drivers incentive quarterly safety bonus for loaded miles but understand coming on as a( company driver there is a camera in your truck )that will probably keep the company drivers from ever seeing that $0.05 safety bonus again they leaned on the company drivers!!! owner operators and Lease company drivers do not have cameras!!! if they can't get the minimum miles they require out of you they are not going to take the loss they are going to work you another day or two days or give your 34-hour reset on the side of the highway or where ever you make it to I'm writing this from a Love's truck stop in Albuquerque New Mexico I will be cleaning my truck out when I get back to the yard. some of the customers they have like the one I just loaded from I was there six hours you can expect usually to sit at a customers around three and a half To 5 hours on liquid loads. they had me do leave out on Sunday that would have been about a day and a half off at the house last weekend was at the customer in Denver 6 a.m. Monday morning it took them five hours to unload me went to the next customer to pick up it took them four and a half hours you load me between the two customers Monday was the a Los and I was unable to make the 7 a.m. to noon delivery time the next day so Tuesday was a los two.. in short I am spending my 34-hour reset on the road instead of home because they have to make their quota with their company drivers and due to all the time they give away and the time they make you set you are not going to make that drivers mileage quota. And a five-day work week. PS do not think that you will save on your 70Hr ⏰ by going off duty while sitting at the customer because at the end of the week first choice well look at how many hours you have left on your 70Hr.clock. and send you out again again they will dispatch you on another run need I say more ????? Are you picking up what I'm laying down??? Drivers

Pros

They have bought new trailers family run company nice people

Cons

Be upfront with your expectations with company drivers tell them about the cameras and the push they'll be feeling from having to meet the quota and that the company least drivers and the owner operators do not feel that push or have cameras in their trucks there is a difference between night and day with a company driver and the other drivers they're going to find it out anyway

Not at all family oriented. Ask/demands that drivers bring cargo to warehouses that are not on paper work . Get used to being asked to do (a favor) that turns into unpaid regular requirement. Keep track of pay because you will find discrepancies in what you do and what you are paid for. Most dishonest group of people i had ever worked for....and when and if you ever get pay straight and they find someone to do it for even the slightest bit cheaper you will be gone even if your replacement is a proven liar with a horrendous driving record.....i would not recommend driving for (first choice )east syracuse ny. If you dont have much experience, because you will end up having a horrible taste of what truck driving is supposed to be.

Pros

Not many that come to mind.....

Cons

To many to list ...but i was employed by them for a while because of my own laziness...not wanting to fill out apps. Glad i was forced to .....first app hired and already so much happier just wish i would have been paid the rest of the money that i worked for!
