Have been driving over 20 years. If you can do anything and I mean anything else with your life other than work in the transportation industry, do it. If you insist on working in what is truly a mediocre industry, know that Hartt is really no better or worse than any other trucking company. I've been here for years and they don't care about their people at all. For the people who say they treat you "just like family", exactly what was life like in your family?? My family actually loves me. I was once in a restaurant in Auburn Maine when a driver stopped to say hello to what I was able to figure was his dispatcher. When the driver and his family left, the dispatcher went on to belittle and make fun of the driver. I was in the next booth. That is HARTT TRANSPORTATION. THAT is trucking. These companies need you in the seat. Period. None of them care about you. I make a decent living at Hartt but I never forget the truth. I come in, do them no favors, take no risks and focus only on my safety. I go home to my actual family, you know, the people who aren't trying to exploit me while smiling to my face and when I'm home I don't give Hartt or trucking a single thought.

Pros

I earn a decent living

Cons

If you need your job to satisfy something in your soul, if you want your life to matter, if you want to work with people who aren't always trying to hide their loathing for you, do SOMETHING ELSE

This company has been the best company to work for in my 25 years of driving. Family owned and a treat you like a driver should be treated. Home when you want to, very good equipment and will work with every drivers needs. Many people that work here from drivers to office personnel have been here for many many years and will retire here. If I have my choice I will retire here.

Pros

Too many pros to put down. This company is solid and a treat you awesome. Home time whenever you need to be home, excellent equipment and maintenance, The list goes on and on.

Cons

You might get a dispatcher that does not work the way you like to work but that gets fixed by changing dispatchers really easy.

Yes I have been at Harrt for two years now. Been driving for 19 years and I can honestly say your income potential is what you are willing to work for. All kinds of work and lots of drop yards. Check them out

I haul water for them but I'm local out of Maine, I run tankers ..love it ,I do my job they leave me alone.they do a lot of water loads like everyone has said ,also petco, harbor freight, lowes, and paper loads I'm sure I'm missing many more.but like I said I am local tanker and pull van when needed, but I get paid hourly.otr gets .40$ a mile regional gets .42$ a mile and then they have what they call safety drivers they get .55$ a mile but you are kinda on call, they handle loads that are not covered by the other drivers .... So a lot of jersey and ny and the city area. I'm not sure about NC area hub

hartt transportation anyone answer guestion...

I have worked for Hartt Transportation out of the Auburn Maine terminal. I found that the pay was very good (for me anyway). I only stayed with them for a short time and left by my own choice. (No problems with the company) They have/had a terminal in Bangor, ME Auburn, ME and Sumter, NC. If that has changed I do not know. Equipment was good and they ran me pretty hard.

Most drivers that I know and have spoke with, which is an almost daily occurrence because I work for another Maine based carrier and run into them all the time, seem to be happy. Good pay, decent equipment, pet policy, etc. From what they've told me is that most of their home time is the typical 34 hour restart for 5 days out, but sometimes it's 40-48 hours.

When I was there, I ran from South Carolina up no further than the G. W. Bridge for 40cpm. If you're willing to go up to Maine the pay was 42cpm. If willing to go into NYC the pay was 50cpm. The running area is anywhere east of the Mississippi. I was on the road usually until my 70 hour clock was about up. Then home for 34- 48 hours. It all depends on your dispatcher. The equipment is pretty decent.
