Equipment is well maintained... but they will think nothing of changing your tractor or trailer at the drop.of a dime. I don't generally take much home time, so that wasn't an issue but once - in which case it was weeks after my requested date before I was routed there. If you enjoy sitting, you'll absolutely love this job. Sitting at shippers, receivers, truck stops, etc. Don't count on most of your detention. My average was less than 1800 miles per week, most of that was in the first six weeks. Once they have your escrow, count on around 1200 miles or less.

Pros

Maintenance is the strong link in this chain. Safety is also relatively strong.

Cons

Dispatch is a nightmare. They only take hot loads which are nearly impossible to pick-up/deliver on time. Your time at shipper/receiver at almost every load will be double your time driving on that same load. If you complain or refuse a load, you may as well start looking for your next job.

I think they have good intentions, but the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. too much bureaucracy on little things not enough focus on driving and making drivers money.

They promise you the world, but give you dirt, I spent most of my time trying to get a hold of Dispatch,. My checks were less than half what they said they’d be. Never got my escrow money!

They don't have a yard, have respect for drivers, have good truck's, non rude dispatch, morales and ethics and WILL NOT PAY YOU. They will lie on your DAC report. RUN AWAY FROM THE WORST CHICAGO JOB...And that's saying something.

As a driver of 8 years, I only good things to say about Road Knights. My dispatch team and I are like family. We have never had a bickering conversation in over a year. I get good miles, decent pay, and respect as person here. I would say join this team as a driver if you want to feel like a family..

Pros

Respect, good pay, good home time if you request it early, and good equipment.

Cons

The only one con, I would say is. If you don't check your tires you will be charged for it. So check your tires, and report the condition often.
