Constantly overhiring, not enough work, waiting too long for equipment, giving up free time. underpowered trucks, lack of maintenance especially with trailers. Seems as though they like the constant turnover of help, keeps the presidents son employed in orientation. They don't share any information, it's all a secret.

Pros

It's a job especially if your a treehugger! They love their CNG fleet.

Cons

Too much to list

This job is local but you have split days off and you will start late and run all thru the night or you will start at 8am and work until 9pm or later. You will work 13-14hrs per day unloading and reloading two trailer per day. The equipment in harrisburg,nc are 12yr old daycabs that will breakdown on you at least 3 times per month. The trailers are antiques and shouldnt even be on the road. The ops manager is the vice presidents daughter and has no trucking experience, she is the reason why drivers leave due to her management of the terminal

Pros

Pays not bad if you dont breakdown

Cons

Unsafe equipment, poor management,long hours

Started driving for Saddle Creek in 2010, since then they have grown a lot but they have never lost that family atmosphere. I do know that they are hiring in Lakeland, FL and the drivers are home daily. Its a great place to make a career.

Pros

Home Daily, Mostly Newer Equipment, Predictable and Accurate Pay, Predictable Schedule,And Pay Increase every year.

Cons

Drive a different truck every day.

Saddle Creek Transportation

They are a warehouse/logistics provider type company. Their biggest customers in So. Cal are Arizona Iced Tea and Lumber Liquidators (Or somebody that sells laminate flooring) As far as I know the only trucks they actually own are day cabs doing local shuttles. The last time I loaded at their warehouse I saw they had a sign up advertising for o/o's. I know their freight pays fairly well, the co. I am leased to gets all of our loads from them through Bett-A-Way out of NJ. When I saw the sign it made me wonder if Saddle Creek was trying to push out Bett-A-Way.

I drive for a local company now. They are more into logistics and warehousing than transportation. They kind of do trucking as a side thing, though they are growing fast in that area. Company is Saddle Creek Logistics. They are out of Lakeland FL, but growing around the US pretty fast now. Day cab, all trucks are natural gas, but home every day.

I've hauled many loads out of that Saddle Creek facility. That was always a decent place to pick up loads. Good people working there in the warehouse.
