I am retiring after being in the trucking for 25 years. In that time I've had the opportunity to run all 48 States and 5 Canadian Providence's with two of the very large carriers. Four years ago I joined Savannah Transport and I can honestly say that Savannah has been the best trucking company I've worked for. They have never failed to get me home for scheduled home-time. They have a customer's base that is easy and enjoyable to work with (No grocery warehouse). The majority of all pickup and deliveries are during business hours. Their truck are well maintained. The dispatch is small and this allows them to know and plan for how you like to run. You will need an "X" endorsement (tanker & Haz-mat) on your CDL. You will only pull well maintained "dry vans" that have a button to move the rear trailer tires rather than trying to pull the slider pins with brute force. The trailers also have an outside handle on the left rear swing door and an extra step above the ICC bumper to make getting in and out of the trailer easier and safer. You are not required to chain or drive when the conditions are unsafe. Their running area is the Western and Central U.S. Dispatch is done out of West Jordon, UT and routine maintenance is done at Hoyt's Truck Center in Topeka, KS. If I had to sum up the company in one sentence it would be: "If you take care of them, they will take care of you".

Cons
