A lot of false promises and a lot of sitting waiting on dispatch. Sometimes sitting for a week waiting for a load, on the east coast. Dispatch is extremely inefficient. OTR and was never paid more then $2900 for a two week check. Requested home time, and they would never honor it. This company also fines you for many types of violations. Small and large, by several hundred dollars. No tarp pay as well.

Pros

It’s a job. You will sit a lot.

Cons

Home time, pay, loads, sitting time, false promises

When I started with this company 3 or 4 years ago, it was great. I loved it. I spoke with the owner often, home time was whenever I wanted it, always had good trucks and equipment. They got a new safety guy about the time I started and things went downhill. It used to be every time you came in, "How's the truck?" "Do you need anything?" Now they just treat us like we don't know anything. We're just dumb truck drivers. I had all respect for this company even a year ago, but now that's all gone. And it makes me sad. This was such a good company to work for once upon a time. It's still probably better than a mega carrier, but the safety guy who is now a driver manager, is a scum bag. I even pulled into a truck stop today, and a former employee named names and he didn't like them a year ago. I will not recommend these guys to anyone. Not anymore.

Pros

Home time, pay

Cons

Sometimes you get screwed out of home time but that's trucking, management, bad info on loads. The truck I'm in now is falling apart and has 620K+ miles on it and they begged me to come back. I gave my 2 weeks notice and the next day I gat an old run down truck.

My name is Moe. As an owner operator, I'm renting a trailer, I'm leasing my company to SPX. I trusted the company for :years: now to keep me rolling. That being said, I do not see my self leaving and going no place else then here with SPX!!!!! The office staff is wonderful and Kind. Mario is my guy there and Janet / SAFETY DEPT. Dispatchers are in great mood day in and day out. The fleet looks amazing and well maintained, thanks to Hugo the shop Manager. Thanks to all the guys and gals that make me rolling and staying busy: Mike, Alex, Stefan, Darko, Guss and Hazim. Keep up the great work guys....

Pros

Busy Busy Busy, and if you need home time, they do the best to get you as close as possible with minimal dead-head miles and the most profit in your pocket.

Cons

I do not see Cons as to the only Cons to working here is related to the economy. Otherwise none that I can see!!!!!

Amazing team to work with. Great dispatchers always have the next load ready. Trucks always running smooth with 24/7 support from the shop. Room to grow in this company with experienced mentors as a driver, mechanic, or dispatcher.

Pros

A lot of miles for drivers, great teamwork in the dispatch, communication 24/7 with dispatchers and mechanic shop. problem solvers and very friendly.
