Great company years ago. Lost its major acct, and went into the tank. Management has nothing but empty promises to the drivers. Went from #3 in pay for the region, down to just about last. Nobody knows the direction of the company due to lack of communication by management. You’re only as good as your last mistake. This company is one contract away from going belly up.

Nobody could've asked for a poorer display of bad management than this company. Thank god It's almost over, they've lost every contract they had and there's very little work left, the end is in sight.

Pros

benefits

Cons

As with all companies going under, poor management.

Not a bad company. But not a perfect company. The company has come a long way through turbulent times. But through the communication of the drivers and dispatch, things are coming along. Ive been there for 9 yrs. There's a revolving door, due to accidents and numerous incidents. Which will get you fired at any trucking company. You get 9 personal days and 10 vacation days depending on your start date. After first year it kicks in. Every 5 years you get an extra personal day and a .25 cent raise. You get a 700.00 safety bonus every quarter based on performance and safety. So if you do something dumb its gone. Theyre doing away with 5/2 5/3 shifts and moving most to a form of weekends off. Fri sat, sat sun, sun mon. Lost a big contract but gaining a little ground. All of the drivers are helping eachother out. Dispatchers are doing what theyre capable of. Ive been OTR, regional, flatbed, LTL and linehaul. This is by far the graviest job ive had. Keep your head clean. Take your time. And you wont have any issues.

Pros

Pays decent. Safety bonus every quarter. Equipment is in pretty good shape. Mechanic is always on point. Dispatchers are busy but will work with you. Home everyday. 10-12 hr work days with time 1/2 after 40.

Cons

cant get ahold of dispatch at times. Computers suck.

source 1 is a middle of the road company with a tremendous upside yet to be met and lots of bad policies and procedures holding it back. Like all companies in the fuel industry they have massive turnover, this is from a combination of things, first is management lowering their standards to accommodate todays newer drivers trying to fill their seats which as every skilled driver knows is bad policy, the second is the remaining available applicants with limited driving skills and unreasonable expectations of the job and third is no ambition of both sides to raise their standards to learn and meet the expectations of the job description. The pay is fair, just below marathon and true north on the high side, but well ahead of ports, lykins, freight sales, beems, advantage, howland and the other bottoms feeders. Aetna medical, delta dental, vision benefits of America and prescription drug coverage, all with low copays and reasonable deductibles that anyone can meet, again just below the big guys and well ahead of the rest, 9 paid sick or personal days , all requests are answered promptly, vacation time based on start date, safety bonuses are paid out promptly 4 times annually, Company offers uniforms including boot allowances, training is 6 - 8 weeks long and pretty good, nobody can learn everything you need to know while training, somethings are learned on the job, that's where coworkers help out with information, trucks are newer automatics and older 10 spd, all are maintained well above standards if the drivers step up and report to maintenance, could easily be a 4 or more star employment with some changes , its easily the third best job in Columbus.

Pros

lots of examples above

Cons

bi - weekly pay on Mondays, lots of communication issue, low standards that need to be raised, maintained and expected of both management and drivers.
