Pros
Money and hometime, and my driver leader and fleet leader are wonderful as are all the support staff in the terminal.
Cons
Maintenance issues on primarily trailers and my division specifically sometimes puts me in awkward, tight places where 53ft trailers probably aren't supposed to be

I'm quite happy with my job at swift. I make very good money and am home as often as I want (1-2 nights per week plus weekends). The tractors themselves are maintained pretty well. The trailers can get a little sketchy, tire wise. As long as it doesn't appear to be an imminent blowout I'll usually roll with it and then red tag it. Red tagging doesn't seem to do anything though. I pickup plenty of trailers that are or should be red tagged. Again, if it's imminently dangerous I don't run it. It can be difficult to get maintenance scheduled and completed. I make 70cpm, 2300-2800 miles per week. Mostly drop and hook, but plenty of live loads and unloads. I work Mid-Atl and North East. As far north as Maine and as far south as Charleston SC. Sometimes I go to Ohio and Michigan but very rarely. It's not fun getting a 53ft with a sleeper into anywhere in Philadelphia or New Jersey but it's doable and I do it, cussing up a storm the whole time. They try to send me to NYC on occasion and I reject every time. Swift is not forced dispatch anywhere.
