Bad company to work for. Do yourself a favor and DON'T . Hoosier recruiter will tell you they pay by zip codes, but they don't tell you they will shave miles off of that. Pay scale is LOW. Some of the office personnel is rude. Wait times at their customers can take up to 3 days. If you question why your pay check is short miles, the accounting lady will tell you to "go pound salt" if you don't like it then LEAVE! Well, I don't know anyone, including myself, that "likes"being ripped off. Do yourself a favor, pass up this company just as fast as you can and choose another company to driver for
USA TRUCK is a typical training company for any driver fresh out of driving school. I do not recommend USA TRUCK for experienced truck drivers seeking miles and real competitive compensation. It doesn't matter what above average CPM they are dangling as pay if you find yourself sitting more than driving. As a training company, the best part of USA Truck is the experience you will achieve. That's it. Get your experience. As an experienced team couple, having close to 30 years between us, everything the USA Truck recruiter told us sounded like it was too good to be true! and we were genuinely excited to get started!..... Of course, being experienced we already knew it was going to be just that - "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE"... however, we decided to give USA TRUCK a whirl anyway..... OUR EXPERIENCE AT USA TRUCK SO FAR: We have been team drivers for USA TRUCK going on 5 weeks now, a very short time and I must say we sit more than we run. Currently, we have been sitting at the Flying J truck stop since Sunday March 15th, with a few "dry runs" in-between to two local USA TRUCK customers that keep CANCELLING the loads, or sent to pick up loads that have been picked up days ago. COMPENSATION: USA TRUCK is not transparent with the pay. There are 3 different places to look to find out what trips are paid in any pay period. It's difficult to decifer what load was paid, what detention was paid or if reimbursements were paid. The paycheck stub alone doesn't list the - 1. LOAD NUMBER 2. MILES 3. CPM 4. DETENTION PAY 5. REIMBURSEMENTS Done on purpose? We don't know, it sure seems rather "fishy" MILES: The recruiter will guarantee maximum miles. We were told as a team we could exoect 5,000 miles a week MINIMUM for team drivers. This is completely FALSE. The CPM is sure attractive until you find out the miles to back that pay up doesn't jive. LITTLE OR NO HELP AT NIGHT AND WEEKENDS The night time dispatchers are unqualified, and unhelpful most of the time. The weekend dispatchers are not much better. EXAMPLE: A weekend dispatcher forgot to dispatch a load. He called me hours and over 500 miles later asking me to turn around to go back and retrieve the load. I had no problem doing that provided he would dispatch the load and we would get paid those miles. The dispatcher refused. ELD: The GEO TABLET/TRUCK HUB has quite a a number of really bad flaws. We reported the on going problems with the ELD changing drivers positions on its own while in transit, changing a drivers sleeper berth position to an "ON DUTY" position, not keeping accurate logs, and mixing up team drivers activities. The USA TRUCK personnel in charge of correcting the ever failing system is not available when the malfunctions happen after hours and on weekends. There is literally NO HELP with this system, and the office personnel will be quick to asign the blame on the driver(s) and tamper with the ELD putting the driver(s) in a "PHONY ELD VIOLATION" Luckily, I have been in the habit of keeping a journal noting everything from time of day, mileage, location and odometer readings before and after my drive time and my husband's drive time. Keeping a journal will literally save you the distress of dealing with the office personnel wanting to pin a phony ELD violation on you, which is why I have adopted this activity for years. As I sit here with too much time on my hands to write a review about USA TRUCK today, it's really hitting home that this is probably not going to get any better. Contemplating doing a search for a trucking company that values their experienced drivers.
