I went over two hours on my clock yesterday or early this monrning. On i40 mm 221 to 280 took 12 hours. West bound was sleeping on the interstate. Eastbound there was nowhere to stop and the cops were waking people to move so no matter what i was getting a violation. Those roads are bad like over a inch of solid ice for miles. I saw a flatbed westbound with chains on. I only had 7k in the box so wasn't fun at all. I can't believe they had those roads open.
Uh oh lol

I planned my trip to Little Rock pretty well. Stop somewhere east of the city on I40 on Sunday afternoon, get up on Monday morning and be there by 9am. Didn't think much of the weather, I thought I might have to deal with a bit in the morning, so I made sure I had 4 hours for the 2 hour drive. Parked it on Sunday right as it started to rain and temps hit 30. Then came sleet with thunder and lightning. Crazy. By the time I woke up, the parking lot at the TA in West Memphis here was a solid sheet of ice, an inch or two thick at least. Piled up on my hood. Trucks spinning their tires and/or parked in front of me. I wasn't going anywhere. Power was out at the truck stop and gas stations across the street, but luckily I keep food/drinks in the truck to last a while.
All day, just trucks stuck in the entrance and exit, nobody in, nobody out. Trucks backed up on to the offramp, all the way down the highway. Westbound at a stand still or near it. 13 car pileup over Monday night in to Tuesday made things that much worse. It's been 3 days, still roads covered in pure ice. I would love to get out of this place tomorrow, but we'll see what happens...thecleaninglady Thanks this. -
Hey jsprocket, was that you with the Melton jacket in the Burger King at the TA earlier tonight? Did you make it in to this ridiculous place??

Nah I only stopped to fuel in Jackson but forgot to turn radio back on from being stuck behind idiot that couldn't pass and kept running mouth at me or I would have known an just stayed put.

I'm a little west on 40 around mm 260 something. All stops and truck parking were over flowing so said f it and now sitting on Highway

I've been stuck inside the TA at MM 260 since Sunday afternoon. Got lucky and got a spot in here when it was just rain coming out. Just a heads up, a lot of the stopped trucks are on the ramp trying to get off at 260 to go to the TA, so if you can get around them, you might be able to keep heading on. I've taken a few walks out to the highway, though, and there's lots of nasty traffic there still.

I'm hittin' the sack, jsprocket, do me a favor and post up on here what westbound is looking like if you make it through... I wanna get out tomorrow but there's no use if I'm just going to make it all the way to the big road and sit there another day and I want to keep my DM updated on the situation. Good luck getting out of it.

Alright I'm stopped on shoulder for now moved maybe 2 miles just east of 265 sitting in front another Melton truck. Still nasty I'm gonna rest then wake up at 530 when get hours back and check map and see if worth moving.

I'm really happy I'm not there.

How's it looking up there? I'm itching to go, but have trucks parked in front of me. Looks like the ice is thawing out, though!
