yes I remember my uncle having 2 on his cab over scania in the mid 80’s made from plastic with a bulb inside to illuminate they were really popular many trucks had them on the wing mirrors or sun visors
These are quite common with European truckers

I remember a guy who used to run an old decommissioned Schneider cabover in the 90’s that had one of those. He ran between St.Paul and Chicago and I’d see him every week. I also wondered what it was all about. I remember his handle used to be The Great Pumpkin. Lol.
