Am I shooting myself in the foot by buying a truck that isn't allowed in California?

As far as I know the only hard restrictions are that it has to work with an ELD and it has to pass a Landstar inspection. There are a couple of other picky things like fifth wheel height and a p-side fender mirror, but those can be dealt with.
They will ask for a picture of your engine emissions sticker, so if it's faded out go ahead and order a new one from the dealer right away. It takes a while to get one. I had to order one from Freightliner for the truck I bought in March. Cost me $56. Took the dealership a week just to figure out how to order one from Detroit, then a week to get it. -
What's the age limit for electronic motor trucks at Landstar?
