Most cite not wanting a place for undesirables to ply their 'trades', there is a new Costco about finished up at the site of a long time closed up truck stop at US30 and exit 257 I55 near Joliet, IL, that was closed by zoning, iirc.
Story City, IA, on I35 north of Ames, kept a Loves out that located an exit or 2 away, in a better location.
I'm surprised PFJ hasn't built one in Hampshire, IL.

More recently the folks in Glendale, Arizona let their feelings be known about a Love’s possibly being built and told them to take a hike. Technically there was a Pilot up in Hampshire,IL up the street from the TA but it was turned into a Road Ranger now-which has been happening with quite a few Pilot truck stops in the Illinois/Wisconsin region.
-
Road Ranger and Pilot parted ways, and the locations have mostly suffered from reduced traffic. There's a Speedway there, that was once considered a part of PFJ, also, some Thorntons in IL, but I'm unsure of how many.

I noticed. Some of the designed fuel stops we had we no longer use them because of the “divorce”!lol

Nine showers?!?!? Is this a mistake?

Just as long as they have counters in 'em...
nredfor88 Thanks this. -
North Georgia is more truck driver friendly than Massachusetts.
-
IDK about that. At least in MA the weigh stations are mostly closed, plus there aren’t as many truck prohibitions.
-
I’ll take open weight stations in GA over zero parking in MA any time.peterd, ronjeremyjr and Dale thompson Thank this.

There is parking in MA.You just have to KNOW WHERE TO PARK.

There are truckers guides for parking (plus various apps) that show what’s available and where. Also, its pays not to flock to every Pilot Flying J on the planet.
