Well at least they got you home.
####, I heard stories about that scale house too, they pick out USA Drivers because of our proximity to the terminal. Sucks you got burned. I'd have warned you about it if it had occured to me.
Personally I'm thinking of going back. I got shot down in another (local) interview this morning becuase of lack of seat time. Guy was really nice about it, he just explained his insurance would have him over a barrel if he hired me. Problem is,,, if I started the paperwork TODAY, I'd probably still be 3-4 weeks away from a pay check. And I've got something comming up this weekend so I'm gonna loose another week.
What I really need is a non-trucking, cash only, temp job to float a few bills for a month. Anyone need their lawn mowed?
Usa truck a joke......stayaway

First of all, what were the safety violations? Did you pick them up when you did your SI? or did you just write SI on the log?
When DOT said that you had two violations...why didn't you call your FM immediately and ask what they recommended that you do?
Look, it is YOUR CDL, not USA's or DOT's...this is your career. Cover Your ##### -
The violations were both on the trailer brakes. A cracked brake lining and a bent rod going into the brakes. No I didn't catch this in my PTI cause I wouldn't have known what to look for. I'm not a mechanic I'm a driver and a woman too so this is all foreign to me. I didn't call my fm cause I trusted what the officer said. That was my first week solo and every experienced driver I talked to said they would have done the same thing too. There are no excuses. What was done to me was just plain wrong. The officer lied to cover his butt cause he didn't follow procedure. Me being new didn't see what was going on and he knew it. I will be contacting an attorney and I will get my record cleared.

You did the right thing by exposing them here. In the future just hide your identity and be carefull what you say. Good luck and i hope this all works out for you. -
Do you have a copy of the inspection report? If not get it. If it says out of service you have no case and are pretty much screwed, unless you can acquire audio/video of the officer telling you what he should not have or a lawyer can scare info out of him. If it does not then you did nothing wrong in the first place. My guess is that it does note oos. I'm thinking you were a victim of insufficient cdl training. Violating an oos order is probably considered worse than a preventable accident in companies eyes. I really feel for you, but if that form said out of service you should have been taught not to move that truck regardless of who says it's ok. Good luck to you.
-
Yeah no joke. Bad deal to move it when they do that. I would have called USA and asked them to send someone to fix it pronto before I ever moved with it. If it says OOS, you are stuck. But maybe in 2-3 years it wont be as bad looking on your part. I would lean more towards three. But some DOT cops are real sticklers too. I had one right me up for chaffed air hose on my trailer brakes. Was no thread showing or anything, could just tell it had been rubbing. Company didnt pay for it either. I had to show the court copies of qualcomm messages showing I told the company about it and they just disregarded it. Along with a statement of exactly where I dropped the trailer off to have it repaired, etc. The company just put it back out and was still running it when I called to get the info I needed for court. The judge dismissed it though, in New York. Bare minimum there is $350 fine for DOT violations. Thankfully though it did not say OOS on my ticket. Sorry to hear about your prediciment. Hope it all works out for the best for you. Or as good as it possibly can anyway. Maybe you will get lucky. Never know. Good luck.

also dot dosen't put it on ypur dac. USA does remeber that

When are people are to learn. Stay away from carriers such as USA and all the mega truck load carriers. Time after time, stories like this appear and people still risk going to work for these carriers.
-
Well posting that on here will not solve your problems. Call an attorney !!! You'll get more half baked info here than you can handle. Good Luck......

Beginners choices are limited. There is drivers that work 10 years for Swift, USA, etc. They must have found something.
Traic I figured when you did that thread about USA you were as good as gone. Can't post on the net with all that info.
I got caught by my first wife looking for divorce info.
