That sounds like 20-25K worth of damage, including down time. Mine was 14K when that happened to me, and I didn't need a CAC, radiator, or tire. That was 8 years ago also. Parts and labor are up now.
He could go to KW or Pete and get a Pac Lease truck. Their rates are cheaper, and requirements less. He could repair it himself like I did if the truck is paid for, if not they may require a shop do it.
I patched mine enough to drive, went straight to International for an estimate, then home, where I called the adjuster.

Ok, they have Freightliner ready for him. What they will do, when he gets there, is first check all important parts, intercooler, radiator, etc, make sure they are not damaged or will go bad if we run the truck. Then, they will put on a "loaner" hood. You won't be able to miss us with that on, my understanding is they are all white. Won't that be purty?
Then they will order all the parts, bumper, grill etc, fix the hood, and we will go back in to get that all put on.
Now for the bad part. Down time is paid by the day. $160.00/day.
I have to say, this Ins Co is a class act, all the way. The adjuster stated that they will replace the after market parts and put it back the way that it was. AND they stated that not one dime will come out of our pocket. So its not as bad as what we thought it was going to be with the insurance company. They were willing to pay tow bill, didn't want us even to worry about that.
I'll keep you all posted as we go along with this.
