Looking for recommendations.....

You’d think that someone would have a webpage or app that had all the 48 states bridge laws and an easy way to calculate it.

 

Forget the app. Set 5th wheel in one spot. One notch forward of the center of slider is a good starting point. Learn how to calculate weight transfer, sliding only the trailer axles. Sliding them forward under the load, adds weight to trailers axle, taking it off the Drives. Sliding them back away from the load, takes weight off the Trailer, puts in on the Drives. Gross stays the same, amount shifted is the same. Example-Count the holes from the front of the Trailer slider. If Trailers in the first or second usable hole, and Trailers 1500 lbs over, slide axle back, about 4 or 5 holes. Depending on the load, usually 250-400lbs. per hole. I use 300-350lbs per hole, as a rule of thumb. So 5 holes should move 1500-1900 lbs. Keep it within #8, or # 9 hole, on most Trailers, for most bridge laws. Remember to leave room for fuel, on drives. Figure 8lbs per gallon. If you plan on putting on 100 gallons, leave drives at 33200 or less. No need to complicate things with an app. You’re only shifting the same amount of weight. A Trailer loaded evenly, can usually be made Legal, by putting the rear of the Trailer tires, or the mud flaps even with the rear of the load. On a dry van, you can usually count the panels, 2’ each, on the inside, and the outside, to get a good idea where the load ends. Practice this, eventually you’ll only need a scale, for anything over 40k, if it’s loaded evenly, or even if it’s loaded a little bit lighter in the nose, for instance 1 pallet, then doubles all the way back. That’s common when the load is an odd number of evenly loaded pallets. You need to get a good understanding, so you can also know how to properly load the Trailer, if asked. If you find that the Tractor usually has too much weight on it, and Trailers usually too light. You can move the fifth wheel back a notch. One notch back on the fifth wheel, usually shifts about 600 lbs. From the Tractor axles to the Trailer axles. Once you get the fifth wheel good, shouldn’t have to ever move it.

 

Sliding the trailer axles or the fifth to move weight is easy.
If you can’t figure that out you have no business being a driver.
It’s usually 750 lbs per hole , or something like that :

the bridge laws are what’s super hard to understand and calculate. and different in every state.

I never worried about the bridge laws
I just got the drives and trailer tandems under 34k and the Gross under 80 and hit the road.

Sometimes common sense is all that’s needed.

 

Seems as if you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing. No desire to learn either. Instead of relying on your own sound Judgement, you’d rather grasp at straws in cyberspace. The excuse that you hate math is lame. New invention, calculator. How much easier can it be? Since all loads are different, using an app just complicates things. It’s a waste of time. That’s not working smart. More like working blind.
