And help me decide how to fix this?
I can see it is a gasket leak of some sort.
Both axles on the drivers side is showing this. Is it as simple as checking the torque on the nuts? 16274744893601867706383.jpg

Axle flange gaskets, torque nuts with torque wrench clean stain with brake cleaner. Run it if seeping is still present then remove axle shafts clean off old gaskets and install new flange gaskets
retorque. Rotate the full hole in hub to 3 or 9 o clock position and refill hubs with
75/90 weight synthetic. You will lose a little when you pull axles

Easy fix, but replace those nuts with locknuts, every time the axle is pulled

What ever you do, do not use silicone sealer. Use some scotch brite and solvent to clean gasket mating surfaces. Use a torque wrench after nuts are just barely snugged up. Not a impact, you can pull the studs from the aluminum hub
Easy job and won’t take long if you do have to change gaskets. Have fun

Tighten all the nuts. Spray off the oil with carburetor cleaner or starting fluid. See if that fixes your problem. If not you will need a new gasket.

Final Drive and feldsforever Thank this.

I've made hundreds of service calls for leaking axle gaskets. Most of those were because wheel seals were replaced, and either old lock nuts were reused, or lock washers not replaced.

Ok, I am not saying it's a bad idea, I have never seen any nor heard of it being done.
