tscottme, 4 years after your OP, did you overcome the burnout? If so, how?

    tscottme Thanks this.

Old post, I think since 2020 crap started it has doubled maybe tripled the burnout. Also everything is so much more dangerous or you can be liable for anything that causes stress. I think truck drivers should take off an entire month every year at least, something I haven't done in a very long time.

Not really. I moved into tankers for 3 years. It paid better and conditions were better, plus more respect from customers. It was nice not having fantasy schedules like San Francisco to Stockton in 30 minutes on Fri rush hour. I then started working out West. That's better driving as you have hours orvdays of good driving outside of the hellscapes of Seattle, Portland, and SLC. I'm looking for a tanker job in the West that loads in Nowhere and delivers to some other Nowhere.

Well I hope you get that job and that your burnout gets better if it was never really defeated. Life is too short. And yes, the West is such a great part of the country to drive, even if it comes with the snow, winter weather and brutal winds (in Wyoming at least).

    tscottme Thanks this.

Thank you. I worked through all of last winter out here and "chained up" a few times. Like anywhere else, the weather even when it is bad is hardly more than an inconvenience. Its the army of morons in trucks and 4-wheelers that are the problem.
