True indeed when I first started trucking 16 yrs ago "A belly overhang" said you're going to be like me afterwhile I'm like no I won't I do eat like you nor do I live like you. I'm thankful I've been blessed not have been sick throughout my life. I use to be into running I just starting trying to get back into it. I'm OTR for the moment & enjoying it. I walk as much as possible definitely my eating habits have changed for the better( I don't over eat ). I hiked up to 10k on the Sandia Mountain in Albuquerque NM. I'm enjoying the great outdoors again. Your life & how you live is up to you. Yes certain working conditions & environments make it challenging but you adapt. I know I have. All the best on taking care of yourselves.

Actually - physical, mental and emotional. Can things be done to make a difference in all these categories?

I’ve only been driving 3.5 years and I’m still able to get my 2 year medical card. I do notice I chew more gum and blow more bubbles while driving down the interstates.

It's not good for my health, when I have taken off 2-3 months the change in health is dramatic.

I’m a trucker whose OTR… and have spoken with many drivers about their health. I want to make this a topic of discussion because we all work very hard and make sacrifices both to our bodies and our families and I think that there is a better way. We are a crucial part to the nations economy and I believe there should be more opportunities to be healthy. But first, I want to hear from other drivers on what the problems are then fine ways to create solutions.

I gained 25 lbs in 2 yrs and run flatbed. Just got a curtainside a few months ago. Fuel stops need healthier food options and companies need to pair up with gyms for discounts on memberships, since a truckers health out here has everything to do with how they perform their job safely
