On your roof top is one thing, the acres and acres you see everywhere are what I am referring to.

You thinking along the correct lines.....

One of the issues with larger photo voltaic solar installation is all the shade changes the micro-climate. Makes life easier for the rats and mice while slowing down the snakes. Kills off some native plants and allows others to cross over to invasive weed territory. Since the soil does not dry as rapidly there are more worms and such for the birds to eat so they can poop on the panels.

    --------------------------------------------

Then there are the solar concentration arrays, Like the one in Cali, next to I15 by the NV boarder. That one reflect the sun light and concentrates it onto the tower. Quick cooking the birds and other things that fly through the concentrated light. Of course when the sun tracking system messes up it cooks the tower.

That was interesting reading thank you. My question with California though has always been "why are there not dams on the feather and American river" Sacramento of course has one, but why not 2? Sure we bug the fish but they pretty much learn it. Or nuke plant, have experienced people build it and buy someone experienced to run it.

Lots of dams in Cali that generate electricity.

One of the more interesting ones is the Hetch Hetchy System. A system of dams and reservoirs that generates electricity and delivers Water to San Fran.....
    Hetch Hetchy - Wikipedia

Helms river project is an interesting one with an upper and lower reservoir. During the day it drains down. at night they use the extra grid capacity to pump the water back up the mountain. Using the reservoir like an energy storage device.
Helms Pumped Storage Plant - Wikipedia

Cali had some Nuke plants. Rancho Seco near Sacramento was closed cause the electricity was too expensive compared to Natural gas. Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station - Wikipedia. Then there was the one they built on the coast next to a fault line Diablo Canyon, All About Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant - The Santa Barbara Independent

One of my concerns on nuclear for them is the Seismic activity through most of Cali, you can throw in some volcanic action for spice. Not sure there is a truly safe location in Cali for nuke plants. Not sure I would trust any of the big utility companies to safely run one, like any corp they are in it for the money and tend to skimp on maintenance and upgrades.

And of course the appointment time is wrong they don’t open back up till 2300 tomorrow night. This was my load home too. 40 miles from the house. Gave them 30 minutes to figure something out or Im heading home. They will also need to compensate me for coming back out tomorrow night, 11 hours after the appointment. FML.
