Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Edna has been rebooting herself about once an hour since yesterday afternoon. Had to turn her volume all the way down last night so she wouldn't keep waking me up to let me know that an ELD diagnostic event had occurred.

Called in to Safety a bit ago to see if it was something they were doing on their end, and was informed that it was a system-wide software issue on Qualcomm's end of things. So if you are experiencing the same issue, you just need to wait it out and it will eventually resolve itself.

 

Mine did the same thing last night. At least 5 times.ever since the 5g upgrade, mine has a mind of it's own.

 

Delivered a Volvo load to A. Duie Pyle here in York, PA. Picked it up yesterday in Byhalia and had to sign a phone-book's worth of bills. Literally signed 73 pieces of paper. Took me 30 minutes. My shoulder is still sore. Talk about things I'd like to see, I'd like to see every trucking company in the country refuse to do business with Volvo until they streamline that process, because that was just ridiculous.

Been an hour and half since I dropped the trailer. Looking increasingly like I will not be getting another load assignment today. Parked up here at the 83 Travel Plaza, which I have never been to before, trying to understand their needlessly complicated prices for parking. Just charge me $20 for it and let's call it a night. But no, they charge 3 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours. Apparently if I buy stuff from the diner, I get a discount. But I bought Indian food on the way here, so I don't really need anything else. Maybe I'll pony up for a slice of chocolate cheesecake.

 

Will be at the yard tomorrow afternoon to drop this load then a 34 and next load is a hill phoenix to a new Publix in covington, Ga. No trailer number on the assignment yet, pick up at plant 1 delivering Tuesday morning. Had to research the location through Google though being address is new.

 

Those are always fun. Especially when Google doesn't know either.

 

Yeah, I got lucky when I googled the location since a marker showed up for where it is supposed to be. Sometimes you gotta do deep search for articles and stuff with details on the store.

Thread has been going for 9 years and change, with near-daily updates the whole time. Not surprising it's one of the top threads on the forum.
