I was about a month into a new job at a newly opened heavy equipment dealer. We were stocking the warehouse, when the receptionist came out and said a plane had hit the WTC. She had a small TV behind her desk, so we went in and watched it unfold.

I was in the us customs compound in Buffalo. Was stuck there for 44 hours. They sealed that up real quick.

Don’t let this make you feel old @JohnBoy but I remember clearly I was a senior at mount dora high school working as a teachers aid for my favorite business systems admin teacher, very surreal day. What’s sad as well is I’m sure that course isn’t even offered to students anymore, Mrs. Wilson was her name, I can type upwards of 50 words per minute because of her, I still write checks and balance a checkbook because of her, I’ll never forget the day she assigned us the project of “what do you want to be when you grow up”, I proudly stood in front of that class and gave a presentation of my desires to drive a truck for a living. Makes me sad to think teachers like her, with so much wisdom, no longer have anything to offer to this generation we have coming up in the world now.

I was in a diner in eastern PA. Switched jobs not soon after. Went to work for a fencing company. We fenced in the Shanksville PA crash site. It was awful. All the big stuff was cleaned up. Family members still visiting. The smell of jet fuel still present. I am a motor mouth and that was one of the most quiet days of my life.

Thats what I thought it was, a prop plane. I was on the flight deck of the USS Constellation heading for San Diego when I heard about it. I remembered walking into flight deck control and looking at the tv just as the second one hit.

My wife and I woke up in Ely, NV. on the morning of the 11th on our way to Fallon. Just switched the tv on and could not believe what we were watching.

I was working at an Internet provider, and literally everybody at the office was standing in the Network Monitoring Center watching it unfurl on the big screen TVs they had.

My then-wife worked at a building across the freeway from the Pentagon. She had co-workers who saw the plane which hit the Pentagon flying literally over their heads as they were driving to work. She worked on the 5th floor and had a solid view of the impact site.
