I am siting in Houston. We did a load out of Memphis. 20:00 hours been sitting since 1400.
I made a good friend in orientation. A returning driver that was a mentor. They approved him to start doing it right away. Then changed their mind and he rolled with his truck. I went back to the motel Thursday night told to return 1100. 8:30 Friday they called me and had a mentor. His first student slept in the truck at the terminal and decided to go home. I am with an O/O in a 2009 KW T2000. Mellow dude been with Swift 4 years.
We loaded some cooking oil and hauled it down here.
400 Cummins and an 8 speed it. It needs a gear between 7th and 8th for 55mph zones.
My mentor is from Bullhead city AZ. He wants to go to home time. I may not get home until I am done.
Testing out rookies doing their road tests took out 2 stop signs. They still have jobs, then had additional training to do. I was the second fastest in backing in between the trailers.
Anyway my mentor lent me his laptop to check my email. He is doing WIFI and may cut off at any minute.
I'll check in when I can.

Thank you everyone for all your information and tips. I have been reading so many threads and posts on here trying to get a feel for the business and a company school to go to... this thread is great. I am going to apply to Swift in a couple weeks and begin the process. I hope everyone is doing good and all is going well. Thanks again !

I just got home from my 6 weeks of training. So far I`m happy with Swift and got a couple things working to get some extra miles and possibly a dedicated by the end of the year. Your going to hear good and bad from any company. Swift isn`t perfect by far but it is what you make it. Everyone is going to have a different experience. The only thing you can do is trust your gut like I did and pray for the best.

From my limited experience, Swift ain't half bad. I know they have had some problems that resulted in a bad rep, but from what I have seen, they are trying to change that. Do your research and good luck whatever you decide!Cooper09 Thanks this.
