If everything goes according to schedule I should test out and get my own truck on Monday this coming week. I don't have a ton of money to buy stuff to deck out the truck right away. What should I cover first?

I have good bedding, boots/shoes, gloves, clothes, and a laptop to keep me entertained.

That should be good enough til you start making some money. Then you'll need things like tools, flashlight, things of that nature. You don't want to keep too much in there because if you quit or have to change trucks, it's a lot of work to move things in and out

Ditto on the points card. Can start with a simple tool kit and flashlight. Doesn’t have to be big or expensive. The flashlight I wouldn’t skimp on.

    Atlas and gps first.

Can't make money if you're lost.

Everything else can be bought later.

Don’t rely solely on google maps. A good app on your phone would be a start. Hammer is good I use it a secondary gps

Truckers brush their teeth? Little mouth wash and good for a few days.

OP stop at a real store and get yourself a few rolls of paper towels.

Keep at least a case of water on the truck from the store. 40 bottles at the store = $4.50

1 bottle at the truck stop = $2.00

Get a small bottle of dish washing liquid. Get in the habit of using just a little dab, and part of one of your waters and a paper towel to wash your hands after doing trucking type functions.

Wash your hands at the truck stop after you fuel.

The layers of grime you keep out of your truck will be your own.
