    That’s what I’ve done in 4 days …well after I deliver tomorrow night. :)

Unfortunately I could be stuck in WA now looking for Bigfoot until I find something decent out of town.

LOL...You keep hauling that cheap stuff Joe. Somebody has to and it's good to know what you consider yourself to be worth.

No. The OM would not. You're already past the sugar beat plant, what are you hoping to get there?

Beaver9, Siinman and IH9300SBA Thank this.

Got a load of coiled aluminum rod last week out of there to WV.
I’m patient, someone always drops a load last minute and I’m right there to scoop it up. Sadly this is what I rely on now, lol. Works though!

This will probably be my last load there for awhile. Rates keep getting pushed lower and lower each week.

Hauling cheap is not my mission statement. I haul all the best paying freight I can find.
I feel it is important to acknowledge that on the spot market that are areas that you have little to say of much they will pay you unless you decide to deadhead out hundreds of miles.
All too often, prospective o/os , before getting their own authority, presume that they will be better than the mass and command the rates. That they will somehow show a TQL guy their rate schedule and that he will comply. That's not going to happen.
It is important to let them know that in some areas and in some times, cheap freight is not a choice but it is all there is to be found.
If not, what's this thread all about?

    Beaver9 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Who defines cheap? Everyone will have a different answer of what is cheap to them. And comparing local or regional work to OTR isn’t apples to apples.

If I can do a full round and average $3.30 all miles then to me that’s better than bouncing back and averaging $2.30 all miles.

When I was pulling my hopper the company dispatching me controlled our loads south and the feed salt back north. If it worked out we would load a short grain load in between to pad an extra $3-400 onto the day. But that one short load by itself didn’t look like much on paper but it would cut a 200 mile bounce down to 60 or 70 miles.

I don't understand why the carrier's are being blamed.

    What about the loyal customers????
