They set everyone at 70 last year. Fortunately, the idle rewards in the truck PCMs were done away with a few years ago. Prior to that, the amount of time you idled affected your governed speed. Back in those days, you would see drivers napping with the side box door open at McAllen when it was 105 degrees outside because they wanted to run 70 on the highway. The ones who slept with air conditioning ran 65.

I delivered to a winery in the boonies once where they had a similar setup. It was a Mom and Pop type thing. They brought 55 gallon drums to the rear of the tank on a pallet with a forklift and filled them one at a time. There’s a place in Salem, OR that does it that way, too, if we return from getting our heavy weight Cat scale ticket at the Pilot and are too heavy.

I thought the company paid the overweight fines.

They do, but some customers won’t give us our bill of lading and allow us to leave if we’re over 80K.

    Redtwin and wulfman75 Thank this.

I reapplied last May, but was rejected. Too much rejection starts me thinking it's high school all over again.

Winter haven. There was a family emergency for the director so travel was pushed back tomorrow and orientation for Wednesday and Thursday. As long as the truck is clean on the inside and serviceable, I'll be content. Good to know the pump is on the tractor itself so I can still drop and hook.

It'll be interesting to experience the different viscosities and exploring the right lanes. My passport is in the mail as well for Canada runs.

I run off of recap for the most part, but sometimes I ask them to sit me for a 34 if I’ve been running hard for a few weeks and need the rest or need to catch up on laundry, etc.

In my experience, oils (vegetable, canola, soybean, etc) surge the most due to the fact it doesn’t take a lot of product to load the truck up to 80K. When people ask me to explain it, I tell them to shake an unopened bottle of water in their hand. Afterward, shake a half empty bottle of water in their hand. The more room there is in the container, the more violent the surge. Concentrate takes a while to unload. I’ve taken it to the LA area in the middle of the Summer and still seen them heat the valve up on the back with a propane torch in order to pull the rod out due to the product being so cold.

Every truck I’ve been issued has been detailed on the interior by shop workers beforehand. I’m almost certain it’s company policy when they become vacant, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Do you think they have enough available coast to coast runs to utilize a team truck efficiently?
