Volvo is not Peterbilt but they have dropped new truck order prices twice in the last two quarters (according to dealer). It’s pretty much a given that prices will drop because these inflated prices are obviously not sustainable.

Anybody who’s paying cash for a new truck right now isn’t going to be buying a fuel inefficient truck IMO.

I would like to know the dealer that is saying that. Please let me know so I can call and see myself. I honestly don't believe they have dropped prices on ordering a new truck.

Which solidifies the astronomical price, as they’ll end up being in it too deep, paying the flooring over “X” months. Stupid way of doing business, IMO.

    Right from the WSJ today…

”Small businesses that rely on bank loans for capital expenditures are also facing a new reality, analysts say. Easy lending standards since the Fed cut rates to near-zero at the start of the pandemic in 2020 helped fuel a boom in small-business activity that has largely continued, despite now higher interest rates.

As the regional banks that have come under pressure in recent weeks adjust lending standards, some of their small-business clients may find they are offered loans under stricter terms, in smaller amounts, or not at all. Many regional banks have also faced significant deposit flights in recent days, meaning they have less capital available to lend in the first place.”

Had CEL’s Monday and Saturday of last week. The first went out ~30min later. The second stayed ~2hrs until I shut off the truck for the weekend. The tech started it Monday morning and it was gone. However, he said the list of codes was incredible. I think, it was a month ago when he last looked at codes and there were 12 he cleared, then.

A few months ago, I had two instances where the trans went into neutral, when coming to a stop, and kick a trans fault. Throw on the 4-ways, shut it off for a bit, restart, and continue on. Yesterday, it did it going down the interstate, with no real load on it. Thankfully, it corrected itself, with a restart. Going to the shop, this morning, it did it again, but, while sitting still at a stoplight. Again, I got it to correct itself and continued on. The shop downloaded a new trans program into it, so fingers are crossed.

Unfortunately, I have one cylinder that’s started banging pretty hard. My home shop is investigating that, later today. Preliminary thought is a bad injector. How they explained the MX13’s injector function, they’re probably right. And, given how many of the MX13s we have had with injector issues, makes me trust their thought. The good thing is I’m off, the latter part of next week for MATS, so hopefully they’ll be able to get them replaced, if they can find a set. 168K miles.
