Sadly many of us have been there felt your pain and recall the disappointment and fear you are now. Thing I would say is it the little things that help.
Was my offer of the reaper sauce big not at all but did it maybe help I hope so. Would I have sent it. Yes if it would have given you joy. Do I want or expect anything in return? no sir. If the time comes and you want to do something do it for someone who is feeling battered like you were.
I am glad you are doing better.

So my decision making process is clouded.

I have a job lined up at Michelin. I will be responsible for pulling a lever for 12 hours a day. No driving required.

I was also offered a driving position by Bubba. He runs a two truck operation that is regional. Not to disparage the bloke since he went out of his ways to ensure his insurance is in good standing when he hires me.

Then there is my old TM who is also starting over but needs new drivers next week.

Not sure what phone to answer.

I hired an around 500 guys in my time as a Foreman. I interviewed I bet 2000 people in that time as well. I can promise that if the guy gal asked that question he knows the real answers and understood you was BS'ing him or her. I hired people that was over qualified many times with my understanding that they would move up or move on. No way they would stay long term for the pay scale and ability they have. I was right in every one of them and seen it a lot when the housing market crashed. Lot's of EX owners and Managers looking for jobs in the construction job. I also knew what was going on and wanted to help them since I was a last resort for them. They all worked hard and earned the pay and I had no regrets!

Good luck in your new adventure and sure you will enjoy something new and challenging.

No surprise, the other LTL companies are probably looking to pick extra business.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

Good question. Now is a good of a time as any to ask this. So far I've enjoyed the trinity of a good workplace

Great pay and benefits, good and competent management on a local level, and steady work in a positive environment

Right now I don't see this happening again. But it's worth working for someone I trust and have one of those three voids filled.

Let me send him an SMS

You sure you want to pull a lever for 12 hours a day? Really think hard. Established company, but it’s mind numbing. If that’s what you want great. I personally wouldn’t work for a small outfit, more uncertainty. Just be logical in your next move, do what you feel is the right choice for you.

So the guy that hired me is not an actual manager or supervisor. Just a company HR bobblehead who is in charge on determining who gets to clock in and out at the plant. I am convinced that my interactions with him would be extremely limited. They offered me a start date of August 28. By contrast my interview was August 2. I do not think that I would be out of line to say that this arrangement is unreasonable. I've gone two pay periods without compensation. Adding three additional ones would most definitely put me out of favor with my financiers that hold leverage with my house and my wife's automobile.

There are a bunch of different pieces moving along. My old TM is building up his own pirate ship. I am one of three drivers he needs. He is still working out the details before he puts me onboard but I have zero reservations about accepting this offer.

Then part three is a job offer I got yesterday. A 1099 gig from a guy that lives less than 4 minutes from me. I was incredibly skeptical about this position but he is willing to put me in back into a Class A seat. I did the whole job interview at his private place of residence. The dude looked like the 1990s rapper Coolio. He had the gold teeth and dreads and everything. Incredibly beautiful wife although she wore clothing that was way too revealing to be approved for a job interview. $1500 a week is what they offered. I could do most of the work within the confines of the state of South Carolina. It's linehaul work. A position that would let me pick my own schedule from a loadboard. I'll go pee in a cup tomorrow.

Please believe me when I say this. I have an ex wife and she had a lawyer. They both took turns screwing me. Both of them combined have nothing. And I say they have nothing on what Yellow has done to us.

There are people that I worked with that I disfavour that didn't deserve this. Yet it happened anyway.
