If he did, he measured only the driver's side. :)
I kept looking at that picture and trying to figure out the orientation and realized that the roof pitches up on the passenger side, so he may have been 'a##uming" road pitch would keep that side lower. Not a good a##umption. :)

I was mechanic at a fleet who hauled coils only. In 2 years they had more miles between dealer and shop than hauling freight. Year 2, they were all traded back in. Maybe that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah I said that because my thought process was the states wont permit overweight on a stepdeck/flatbed, like some wont on the east coast(assuming the freight will fit)

cke, CAXPT and Feedman Thank this.

Who says states won’t permit a flat or step for over weight? Did you mean over height? We’ve permitted flats and steps of over height before. I was permitted at 17’ tall in Georgia on a flat. It was the trailer we had and the only one that would fit into the location.

They will totally permit over height on a flat or step. Do it all the time. On a flatbed it's usually not worth it because most people that do any amount of over height at minimum already have steps.

I've done 16'+ on a stretch step because the load was too long to fit into a stretch RGN. Sometimes you just gotta be tall on a taller trailer.
