Well I have done both. I have been leased on to other companies, and I currently have own authority. Honestly it's 50/50 for me. Both have good, and bad parts. However I have never allowed some dweeb to treat me like a employee except myself.

You sound like a company driver. Sell your truck.

Interesting wondering why no one else came forward and made this into a class action.

Management tells drivers to enter JA into the system with a random load number and a description of the move, they get paid. Drivers who don't know about this work-around can be robbed since there is no documentation in the system, because JA's are not dispatched.

Why would anyone enter a class-action? That only gets lawyers rich, not the plaintiffs.

Trucking companies get a nice slap for hiring criminals who rob drivers. Many in management at that terminal are involved in this scam, as are dispatchers. Where does that stolen money go?

While I am not an expert in legal by any means. I am told by a judge that if there are multiple cases similar a judge would likely make it a class action to have one case vs many some the issues can even be different but still put into same case as long there is something similar. That was his version of dumbing it down for people not how it works though he tried to explain it better but might as well be jibberish to me.. my relative mostly handles juvenile cases but prior to that he was in divorce cases and would say how much he actually hated it and how heated it would get that said he prefers handle kids because as bad those kids act and they act badly he said those same parents act far worse which where these kids pick up bad behavior.
