Me personally I don't care about mountains.
It's all about the weather, I'll go out of route to avoid a snow storm.

Depends on the company honestly. A lot of office critters wouldnt know the diffrence between how a semi and a toaster works if you embeded the latter anally while toasting bread. So ive seen some dumb things from them.

Also worked for a company once that forced me to go an extra 90 miles each way going around a valley because and i quote "the hills put extra wear on the trucks and its cheaper to go around" so....

That said your not wrong either.

40 to 25 doesn't necessarily absolve you from bad weather. You could catch hell in Flagstaff, or once you go up 25, Raton Pass can be problematic. Both of those spots may require you to chain up or shut down altogether. As mentioned earlier, pay attention to your weather app.

Ok definitely driving 45 miles per hour on the interstate then.
If they say anything then would say well less wear on truck going slower, just like avoiding the hills you make me do :D

Trucks were governed at 55 lol. Lets just say i finished my contract and bounced for a reason. Paid alright but not enough to deal with the stupid.

Yeah I know , but a lot less curves nd downgrades , I haven’t seen to much snow in flagstaff this year , a couple weeks ago I was stuck in New Mexico due to snow over 15 hrs on the interstate, it’s not driving thru snow the issue

If the weather gets bad on either route, which would you have the best options for parking?
Not I-70 west of Denver, that's for sure.
