Call the shipper, give them 2 hours, tell them after 2 hours you are selling the overage.

Often the Shipper pads the order, or substitutes product, hoping they’ll accept it. They know the risk. Answer is always donate or throw away. More often it’s donate with a receipt. Absolutely don’t sell. They don’t want any future liabilities. This should have been resolved within a few hours. The hassle and time involved donating is bad enough. 5 days??? That’s crazy. They’ve cost you thousands.

Are bills clean or signed overage?

Call uber again and if that doesn’t work try the shipper and see if you can either donate it or drop it at an LTL dock to return it

Update, the customer told uber to hold the pallet inside the reefer and they’re making an appointment with another warehouse, I was literally planning to go to a donation center tomorrow if there was no update. And about the compensation with this issue uber told me they’re gonna definitely make the customer compensate, 200$ a day layover ain’t gonna cut it.

That was the two options I was given and they were adamant about a receipt.

I’ve always been told to just dispose but this time was different. Probably $10k on the one pallet.

Trust me, I was only a few miles from home and had no problem buying a couple extra garage freezers :)

I would be pushing for more than that. One day maybe let it slide a little but a week not a chance.

Unfortunately $200 per day layover is what you agreed to when you signed up with Uber. Same as you did with the detention pay $40 per hour after two hours with a maximum of $200

The only time you can really get more will depend upon the client they are servicing.

Had a Pepsi load delivery appointment in Tacoma, WA late night booked as a live load.

Got there and found out it was booked as a drop. No one was there to unload and Uber asked me how much do I want to deliver it in the morning. I said $450 and they didn’t fuss one bit.
Was funny because I didn’t have anywhere to park if they did unload me and Pepsi let me park there overnight.

Besides the standard layover pay you should negotiate a rate to your next location. You are not obligated to do that for free.

Sounds exactly like what just happened to me with the Dollar General cookie load.

OP won’t get layover pay for the actual delivery day..he’s trying to count that day.

Like me he sat all weekend due to no office personnel at DG over the weekend. Monday they sorted it out and and I delivered on Tuesday. Got 4 days layover.

Lol, I remember one time I had 4 pallets of potato chips on my truck that had a bad delivery appointment. Was a JB brokered load that they wanted me to sit on for a few days.

Told them just to bill me for the chips I’m leaving. Was back when I had money to burn.

They called me back within minutes telling me they will unload me now!

Had the op donated the product without a disposition I don’t think it would end well for him.
