That's what I'm about. If the company wants to use your personal phone to conduct company business, then they should pay the bill, or at least a stipend. It's a bunch of BS the way these companies take a drivers' personal cell phones for granted.

I was on vacation 3 weeks in June. Nobody in the office told me to certify my logs. Every Friday I logged in and certified. It didn't hurt a bit, I didn't feel I needed paid for it either. Grandkids were flying around the house so I certified them. Did not have to go on duty.....no big deal.
OldeSkool Thanks this. -
Unfortunately, your time off means no business can be conducted; they owe you for that, no matter what you claim. Stop thinking that this is so important that you need to do it, their system is not going to crash, and if they get audited, so what? You are off duty.
It is like the guy who went and recovered the company truck, he has no obligation to go and get it, that's the company's problem, not his.

In the days of paper, when you came back to work from time off. you made up a single page that covered the entire time you were away. If the days off were to span two different months, you made up two pages to cover the time off in each separate month.
Should be the same for ELD. If you are off, you don't do company work, including paperwork. The software should have a method to certify multiple days you are off duty on time off.hope not dumb twucker, snowlauncher, drh72 and 1 other person Thank this. -

When we had Peoplenet, we were told not to certify logs from the phone app when we were off duty. They said if we did it would put us on duty and could possibly screw up a 10 or 34. When we went to Motive, it wouldn't do that.

I get 6 weeks vacation, i usally take them all at one time. Once the boss call me, " You know we pay for that truck to sit", i say "Im on vacation". They never liked it. When i retired I take them at the end of the year, and come back 1 Day, then take another 6 weeks, and not come back. Every Senior driver did it this way, company was cool about it. The Benefits of being UNION.
hope not dumb twucker and 074344 Thank this.
