Anyone use these and if so do you have one to recommend? I have not but a few weeks ago I got woke up to being sick as hell and sure it was from carbon monoxide poisoning. I think I need to get one now to make sure I don't end up dying from someones truck next to me if I have windows down.

No recommendations. But I suspect if you talk to a fire station. They'd be happy to help.

I bought whatever Home Depot had on the shelf. I would assume any one will work.

I'm in the same situation, I've looked at some small personal units that Amazon and Home Depot sell, this KW is horrible for sucking exhaust fumes when idling in the winter

    Siinman Thanks this.

Bought a fire and carbon monoxide combo at Walmart for around 20. Have had one I. Every truck that I slept in. I’m somewhat super they aren’t mandatory. You read about drivers dying every year this way.

This has been done. Was not from my truck. Was a guy with a gas generator next to me so that most likely was the cause. That brand is the one I was looking at. Most likely the one I will go with. Thanks

Sleeping near any running gasoline motor will be far more dangerous for this reason than any diesel engine. That is probably at least part of the reason why APU motors are diesel. Bunk heaters I'm not sure about the dangers there.

last night for the first time I woke up from a strong smell and bitterness in my mouth on Lavs. the neighboring truck was smoking right into my cabin. I called 911, they called the guys from the fire department. while they were driving, a space opened up on the other side, and I reparked. they came, walked around, but did nothing. I'm going to buy a detector

Kidde Nighthawk from Walmart. Cheap, works so far I guess since I am still alive.
