Octagon Group Inc. (DOT 3370352) – My Experience as a Lease Purchase Driver: Terminated

I am posting this so other owner operators and lease purchase drivers can make informed decisions and perform their own due diligence before signing with Octagon Group Inc.

Everything below is based on my personal experience, records in my possession, and communications I was involved in.

I joined Octagon under a lease purchase arrangement. During my time there, I began reviewing settlements, rate confirmations, deductions, repair charges, and internal communications more closely.

As I started asking questions, several issues raised concerns for me:

• Settlement and pay discrepancies that I believed required explanation.
• Rate confirmations that appeared different from what drivers were ultimately paid.
• Multiple drivers expressing concerns regarding deductions and settlements.
• Repair charges that some drivers questioned and felt were excessive or unjustified.
• Internal discussions involving load rates, compensation, and operational practices that I believed warranted further review.

Rather than ignore what I was seeing, I began gathering documentation and comparing records.

I also became aware of concerns from other drivers who were asking similar questions.

Shortly after these issues were raised and investigated, my lease agreement was terminated.

Another driver, Brad, was also asking questions and reviewing documentation.

Following these events, Octagon’s attorney sent me a cease-and-desist letter demanding that I stop communicating with drivers and discussing these issues.

I have retained all records, communications, settlement documents, rate confirmations, emails, and other documentation in my possession.

I am not telling anyone what conclusions to reach.

I am simply encouraging current and former drivers to:

1. Compare every settlement against the original rate confirmation.
2. Keep copies of every load document.
3. Review every repair invoice carefully.
4. Save all communications regarding pay, deductions, and settlements.
5. Consult an attorney if they believe they have been improperly compensated.

I am sharing my experience because I believe transparency matters.

Every driver should make their own decision, but if you are considering signing with Octagon Group Inc., I strongly encourage you to perform your own independent review before doing so.

If other drivers have had similar experiences, I would encourage them to preserve their documentation and seek independent legal advice.
