I have a feeling the previous company I was at. Paid to have the barcode to not deal with it. I probably already said it. But I only ever used a in transit sheet when driving through Canada. Not delivering or picking up. Then a ace manifest for a load coming out of Canada.

Regular Canada drivers used to have a transponder that the company paid for that would pay the user fee electronically but they stopped getting them as they were like $600 per truck every year and someone decided that it wasn't worth it.
Unless things have changed, Champlain requires the form to be filled out as they stamp that you are cleared to leave and an officer collects the stamped form before they open the gate to let you exit the facility. Champlain is the only crossing I have ever used that requires a stamped form in order for you to leave. -
Something I just noticed. The northeast regional position says no pump. But based on talking to someone in Winter Haven earlier. It is sounding like having some pump loads up that way. I'm going to stay OTR. Mostly for the possibility out heading out west. Also hazmat loads.
Also I saw last Friday in the office in Bensalem where you can drop off a trip sheet. Someone had turned in a load from Bensalem to California. I didn't look at it to see where it originally came from. But one thing I know. It wasn't a whiskey tank. -
Probably only worth it if got enough trucks crossing the border. That company I was at was based out of St Agatha Maine. So next door to Canada. So it was quicker for them to cross through Canada vs stay in America.Redtwin Thanks this.

Box 1: truck plate number, trailer plate number
Box 2: Driver's name
Box 3: name and address of Bensalem terminal
Box 4: "Montreal" if crossing in Quebec, "Toronto" if crossing in Ontario.
Box 5: Bensalem or nearest city to your destination.
Box 6: Champlain NY, Alexandria Bay NY, Lewiston NY, Buffalo NY etc. just put whatever crossing you are using.
Box 7: Date
In the bottom section where you see the typed "empty" I also write in bold caps "EMPTY". If you are bobtail, write "BOBTAIL" also.
At the bottom of the form, date and signature.
That's how I have filled it out for years. I was told to fill it out that way by a particular border officer who was very picky about how it was filled out and would give me grief if it wasn't done exactly how he wanted. I don't know what his deal was but he was the only one that seemed to take it personal. -
What I find interesting. Only America requires a form when empty. Canada doesn't care. I just mention where I'm picking up.

I don't try to understand how bureaucracy works, especially when it comes to the Federal government. Life is much simpler that way.
RockinChair, Lonesome and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
I left Bensalem Friday afternoon, bobtailed to the drop yard in Wilmington, DE and picked up a preloaded tank that delivers in Spokane, WA on Tuesday. I’m in North Dakota right now.

I was told today that the TA in New Hampshire off of i95 might still be a usable fuel stop. Because don't really have any up in the northeast.
navypoppop Thanks this. -
Get ready for some very heavy smoke when you get there..they have 3 wildfires immediately around Spokane with 0% containment…I just left Spokane this morning and conditions won’t be favorable over the next week as far as precipitation is concerned..Tanker_82 Thanks this.
