The Cryo Hauler Thread

It is..but delays happen.
He is waiting to fill and works for a company that pays by the hour. He still has to make the stops after the delay unless it's a long one then he'd load and most likely go back to his yard. It's problematic but out of a drivers control.
Capturing CO2 from whatever process is a bit different from cryogenic liquid from atmospheric gas.
Larger companies can run 24/7 but smaller ones just run days locally.

Cryo liquid can be produced 24/7/365 but plants can only store so much and equipment utilization also factors in.
Work days at a small joint and work whatever shift they hire you for at a bigger joint or a producers plant.

 

If I may ask: how did you transition to team driving? That must have been tough....

How was your teammate selected? Did you guys pick/know each other? Or pre-assigned otherwise?

Looks like Matheson has a new name...

 

I started at 0800hrs this morning and will probably be back to the yard at 2100hrs. My trainer wanted me to run 0300-1500hrs, but I’m more solar powered than she is.

 

Been a subsidiary of NSHD but never saw anything but Matheson logo.

 

Not sure about the good and the bad of working there, but after they bought Thomas out these are the trucks they’re still getting for the fertilizer drivers based in Hastings NE.

 

Not bad, that’s the kind of truck that makes ya wanna go to work lol. Just wish we could get rid of the def.

 

This coastal plains looks rock solid except for driver facing cameras and biweekly pay which should be illegal.
This is a 48 State OTR / sleeper position, we keep drivers very busy with a steady flow of work. All CPT tractors are equipped with forward and reverse facing dash cameras. Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
BENEFITS

• .67cpm paid off hub, loaded and unloaded once set to solo status
• $25 hourly (straight time) loading and unloading pay once set to solo status

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Include, but not limited to:

• 2 years required verifiable CDL-A driving experience in the last 5 years, and both Hazmat & Tanker endorsement's required for all other positions.
• OTR experience and tanker experience preferred.
• TWIC card process must be started before an offer is made, receipt required.
• No more than 3 moving violation in the past 5 years.
• No more than 1 at fault crash in a non-CMV the past 5 years.
• No at fault crash in a CMV in the last 5 years.
• Ability to work 12-14-hour shifts.
• Lift approximately 50-75 lbs throughout the shift.
• Pass pre-employment screens: D&A, background screens, MVR, PSP, FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly.
• Felony/drug and alcohol related charges must be over 5 years old.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive and operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be able to safely drive tractor trailer loaded and unloaded with Cryogenics.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
• Calm and professional demeanor, in control of workload and able to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
• Follow all DOT Laws, pre- and post-trip, hours of service.
• Follow all company procedures, and guidelines, DOT and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain appropriate driver's license CDL-A with Tanker & Hazmat.
• Maintain TWIC card.
• Maintains truck cleanliness and performs general maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Other functions as directed by supervisor.

 

That 24-8 is not sustainable for most. That pay sounds ok but 24-8 and the travel to and from jobsite on your 8 days.

 

So I think Genox is using AI or something. Because I just randomly got a call from them. The lady sounded very robotic. If I said anything she stopped talking for a bit like processing what I said.

 

I’m doing 5-6 weeks out and usually take 7-8 days off at my current company. I was thinking it’s hard to keep the money flowing when you’re stopping for a week every 3 weeks.
