Change of plans. Re-checked with the broker. Say's I need at least a 50 (not 60) cubic yard trailer.
East Mfg. finally got back to me and said the Genesis Hybrid is 50.7 Cu.Yds. So, I'm good there.
I don't see the benefit of a spread tandem trailer. I;m sure the load is more stable going in a straight line, but I may be doing a lot of turning through city streets. I'd like to know how my trailer's gonna behave going around a corner.
If spread tandems were all the rage, they would be available on the new Hybrid Genesis..... as they claim it to be the best of the best.
Does anyone know the (cubic yards) of the East Genesis Hybrid trailer?

I've pulled a spread axle flatbed just enough to know I wouldn't want that on a dump trailer. Only way I'd maybe consider is if I could raise the front axle from the cab when I wanted/needed to.
-
Reason I say spread axle is you will not be able to gross out and not be over axle. It's a also a major pain having to walk the loader operator through every step of loading your trailer whilst you are still just hoping its loaded proper enough to not be over axle. As far as best of the best I have never seen a manufacturer of anything say their product isn't the best...............
-
I have never seen a spread dump that you can't raise from the cab.

Good point!
But I like the Hybrid. The "easy pour" of a round bottom trailer, combined with the ridgid structure of a square trailer combined.
Seems like the perfect mix for a dump trailer newbie like me... -
myself I would just as soon have a sheet and post style 39'X60" 2way gate with grain door, there is a million and 1 things it will haul, and if you don't beat it up it will hold resale well, the new style genisus trailers are very nice but more expensive to repair if you lay it over, also East makes a great trailer but would not be the only brand I would look at
-
I'm sure they come with a liner (backsaver) from East but double check and make sure yours has one before purchase. Do you have any dump experience? If not and you would like some pointers let me know. It's definitely not something you wanna learn the hard way.
-
Funny you say that...most loader operators are divas around here.
-
From my experiences in the general areas I run (VA,MD,PA) most quarry loader operators are so accustomed to mainly loading dumptrucks or quad trailers that they get irritated as soon as you ask them to throw one in the nose, one in the back, and the rest in the middle. They just wanna throw it all in the middle and send ya down the road.
-
The places that'll be loading me will all have scales.
They won't let you leave if you're over on either total or axle weight because the customer won't accept an overweight load.
(or something like that)
