I agree also. I was stating what I read. Whether you are fortune 500 company or small business what you pay for products & services you resell is in my opinion confidential info and the buyer doesn't need to know what you paid for. Everyone is in business for one simple reason, TO MAKE A PROFIT. If you r not in it for a profit there is. No reason to be in business.

I have been wondering the same thing.
-
I was once an aviation mechanic. I've had safety wire go underneath my fingernails and into my finger up to the first joint. I've watched the red and blue stuff melt off of a Craftsman(tm) screwdriver while I held it in my hand, working with Skydrol(tm). You can't wear gloves when you work with Skydrol(tm), because the gloves will melt. My hands and wrists are cut up so badly that if I go to an emergency room, they accuse me up having attempted suicide. I've worked with MEK, inhaled Imron(tm) fumes, subjected myself to every nasty-###ed toxic chemical you can imagine. I've worked in the wheel well of a roundmotor-powered Convair, which we nicknamed the "Elephant C###", because it was warm and gooey and dripping, and guess what....
I'm sick of it. Go crawl underneath a truck, if that's what turns you on. I drive a truck, and that's the closest I want to get to one. -
"In addition, when I was here in 2005-2007, I was running 15,000 miles a month consistently. I had a few months in 2006 where I ran over 18,000! Don't believe me? I can prove it with my settlements! And that was with not a SINGLE log violation!" "...never stop moving"
In order to "never stop moving" you get to run max 8.75 hours a day (8.75 x 8 days = 70, always rolling 8.75 available)
15,000 / 4 (weeks) = 3750 miles a week average
3750 / 7 (days in a week) = 535 Miles a day average.
535 / 8.75 (Hours in a day average) = 61mph (average)
Thats: No PTI, No Fuel, No maintnance
Lets go with bare minimums If you run like that, you fill up probably 3 times at the minimum required 15m each = 45 minutes. 15m PTI every day = 1.75 hrs a week so 70 - 2.5 hours a week = 67.5 hours a week to do those miles.
Oh, Wait, we forgot Drop/Hook/bump dock/load/unload etc. Once again lets go with the 'minimums' figure on AVERAGE one of those a day (drop, hook, load, or unload) so thats another 1.75 hours a week (15m x 7 days)
65.75 hours to run those miles.
(This is fun!)
So instead of 8.75 you get to 'run' if your being legal (as our friend says you are) you get to run for 8.21875 but ill give you 8.22 for math sake.
535 / 8.22 = 65mph average speed.
Now. I am not saying its impossable. But that average speed means your doing 65 when goign through town, rest stops, lights, on ramps, off ramps, etc.
So to put down those miles realistically your running close to a average of 70mph (Speed violation at swift. Even for O/O)
So while I dont doubt your 15k, I doubt the 'no violations' the more apt thing is 'i did not get caught for the speed I was doing, and I was hauling ### so much I lost money on fuel'
Thx.Injun and PainNdaNeck Thank this. -
Pretty smart for a NOOB there, TD.
You make me proud...
*smiles broadly while wiping a tear away*PainNdaNeck Thanks this. -
DickJones...I WAS running for Swift in 2006 and your post tells me that you don't know alot about how the hours of service really works...otherwise you would use it to your advantage and be able to run hard and consistent. Truck speed was 68 mph...I was DOT inspected 3 times in 2006, TWICE in California! No violations!
Once again...i started this post to be informative about Swift's lease purchase program...I don't agree with it and I am done at Swift. I'm not on here to criticize those who are still leasing at Swift or those who are considering it. I hope you all are happy and safe and successful. But in my experience in the last seven months with the lease and the bee ess I have had to deal with concerning the planners and miles it's not a good deal. But I will let those who read my words on here make up their own minds. -

Anger management issues, Jake?
Have a successful career. But I am still calling BS on your mileage claims. You haven't proven it. All I see are assertions that aren't possible in a truck governed at 68 mph. My Prime truck was governed at 72 and the highest mph average I could pull with it was 66, going across Iowa, Nebraska and into Wyoming. You have not convinced me or anybody else here you were able to get paid for 18K miles in one month. We all know how Movers' Miles work. You're expecting us to believe you ran nearly 20K miles and logged it legally, even in 55 mph states. If you logged it, you didn't log it as you did it.
I'm not even convinced, at this point, that you have ever worked with Swift or leased a truck seven years ago. I'm beginning to think you did start this thread to talk smack about something you know nothing about and to pick an argument with wild claims and personal attacks. Good luck in your future endeavors. It sounds like you'll need it.TruckerDragon and PainNdaNeck Thank this. -
68MPH as your average speed is STILL a violation at swift. (Rick, got in trouble for a avg speed of 66 and he is a o/o. )
