Lastly I read you were going to PB for minor warranty issues and then Cell phone problem parlayed into no longer being with Central?

I must have missed something so can you elaborate on the latter?

JW430, that pete you got, did they put a paccar motor in there or cummins and whats the gear ratio, also how aften to they send you home 3 or 4 weeks, or 2 weeks, is the turn over rate still high, i believe crome dome says its tuff to get solo's to stay more than 1 year there, maybe things will look much better this year there, thanks

One of the big issues I have with the lease program is that when you are done with the lease and want to buy the truck, you have to pay the full inflated retail price of the truck at that time.
This price will be at least 10% more than the truck would sell for on a used truck dealership lot.
All the over mileage is put toward the balloon payment/ buyout.

You may get lucky and actually survive to buy the truck. This is rare. Maybe 1% of the time you are allowed to buy the truck. Most of the time if they see that you really plan to buy it they will make your mileage really really low till you loose the truck, or till they know there is no way you will have the savings needed for financing.
Almost all company's that lease trucks do this. It is not to their advantage at all to allow drivers to ever own the trucks.
The trucks that are turned in at the end of the lease are gone over with a fine tooth comb. Any non stock parts they will charge to have taken off and replaced. They will not actually do the work. But they will charge like they do.
The last person to lease the truck is always stuck with this. Plus with painting for any scratch on the truck.
Then when it is dealer perfect the company will buy the truck from the leasing company. Since all over mileage money stays with the truck, they use this toward buying it. Thus get a great deal.
Then they sell the truck for a profit.

    Hey Dave.
It is hard to get solo drivers to stay more than a year at any training company. This is just due to the grass is greener syndrome. Not really the company.
Most new drivers think that no matter how much money they made at a training company, they can make more at another.
Sometimes they can. But many times they are in the same boat at the next company. Most of the really good company's will not hire drivers with less than 3 years exp. Though some will take a year.

    biker dave Thanks this.

Come on man, you know you have to tell them that stuff. The eagle they would not have worried about. The pole they would have put on DAC as your fault, but you would have kept your job.
    They report everything on DAC.
I hit a deer and there was no damage at all. But it is on my DAC. Also scratched a trailer at a shipper. Only paint damage, and very small. They shipper was not worried about it since you could barely see it. And they did not report.
    But still on my DAC.
Got my safety bonus both of those quarters as well.
Good luck with new job. I am still fighting trying to find the time to meet for an interview for a position here.
May have a chance tomorrow morning, at a receiver lol. If I do not have to fly out of there fast for next pickup.

Jw430, just beware. From what I understand 6pack has only had to replace 2 fan cllutches. We had a recalled steering shaft that we found out about on our own last summer, and now central wants us to get it checked when we fought with them and pete on how they were going to get the part from canada (that is where the one is avail), we have a screwed speed sensor, we burn oil like you wouldn't believe, replaced the head, replaced the valve adjusters, wiring harness had to be replaced because it was causing the jake to not work, replaced 2 turbos (one because the turbo actuator went, the other blew apart casing a huge mess - but not as big as one I saw on someone who tried to limp the truck to a repair facility) paid $788 in tow bill, had to fix the heater arm ourself because it wasn't covered any longer, and most recently had to spend $250 to fix the flex pipe on the exhaust or lose miles, days, and be less than 100 miles from home all the while. Our 386 gets aboput 7.4 mpg (when you adjust for the screwed up speed sensor), and we have made it less aerodynamic than yours. Our truck was wonderful until abou 200k, now I want dynamite.

We will be turning our truck in, and some fool will sign to get it because of the chrome. We took care of our truck, but recently it just failed on us. For the record I have several issues with the o/o dept, or as the should be called the l/o dept. Their lies about the 389's and coronados is a bunch of crap. We have the spec sheet,m if pete and freightliner didn't spec them as agreed, they would be replacing them or retroifitting, not making people turn them in. I think it has more to do with the wheelbase, but what do I know.

I know I ramble, but I am usually tired when doing this. But, mikley, sorry to hear about everything. Hope things work out for the best.

We would not be where we are without what has happened, but there have been a lot of bumps in the road. We spent the first 250k fighting to stay running due to miles "not available", we get on dole, and now ee fight the truck. The next person to get this truck will get the $5k in chrome, the fourth fridge we put in, as well as $9k at least in overmileage. We are waiting on one final piece of info, and will say what our final plans are. No matter what, we will not be in this truck much longer.

I think it's the class the recent guys are getting. It also includes "Napping on the side of the highway 101" "Getting stuck on ice" and "Why you should never learn to chain."

you get their truck or trailer number? I'd call and report them to HR. We've had a lot of flyers around the main terminal lately saying we need to act professional, or we're going to get canned. I think the rude driver syndrome is becoming an epidemic.
