Back during Bush's pilot program, I heard the same thing. We're all going to be sitting in the truckstop, watching our Mexicano friends pulling all the freight.

Back then, a fella called up on the Dave Nemo show on the Roaddog channel, and said they'd lost a contract to pull containers from the border to a receiver because of lower rates that the Mexicans charged for the same deal. They found other work.

90-days later, he said they had the contract back. The Mexicans were always late because of delays at the border, siesta time, and having no concept of what it takes to be successful in this country. The receiver was toatally POd at the experience, and wanted nothing to do with our Mexicano brothers in the future.

So, they had the new business, this contract back and got it at a better rate - the receiver was HAPPY to pay for superior service. At least that's what this guy said on the air...

So I say, bring it on. If you let those guys from a third-world country out-do you at your profession, can't step it up a level to show your customers exactly who they should be purchasing transportation services from, then just maybe you are pulling for the wrong cheap, looser shipper/receivers.

Or maybe someone ought to be serving those Mexicanos fast food at the truckstop instead of driving...

Thats right but I have a load on right now that pays ME $7700.00 for 1500 mile. How freaking long do you think this load will stay at this rate? Thats over 84000 peso. Do you think there are loads in Mexico that pay that kind of money? Can you see now why they wanna run up here?
They also said when the Canadian trucks started running here there wont be that many.....hell you cant swing a dead cat in a truck stop with hitting one. And I cant take my 275 inch 100mph truck to Canada why not keep them home too.

They aren't suppose to work in our factories and fields without a green card. But they do. Employers let it happen everyday. Nobody says they have to cross back into Mexico. Once they make it across the border, what stops them from staying?? You can't even compare Canada with Mexico. Two different economy's and relationships.

Not trying to defend the Mexicans...But there's numerous Canadians and Chinese who overstay their visa as well....

Btw...If you are an employer and you don't "I-9" any and all prospective employees....You'll be wearing a pair of nickle-alloy bracelets....
