I went to the Lewiston Academy.

Sam was my instructor. Great guy. Loved his style...

I am thinking about going with Swift. So they did close down the school in TN? On their website they still have it listed.

I just went to the TN school and thought it was great. Defiantly felt like truck driving boot camp. You don't have to sign anything agreeing to work for them at all, you will sign a loan agreement. If at the end of school you can get a job elsewhere they can care less as long as you make your payments on time. Of course they will not release your school records until they are paid back so you probably will have to work for them for the year anyways. So close to being on my own 225 out of 240 hours down, all 40 backings and then some and my mentor is taking 4 days home time. I guess there could be worse places to have 4 paid days off than Ft Lauderdale though so I'll survive. Plan is to hopefully get routed to Phoenix for upgrade and new trucks for the both of us.

Curious how long did it take most to get a response from swift?
I was sending emails asking questions, decided to fill out a application online, then poof.
No response to my emails, no contact. I find it kind of odd.
I'm between jobs, and planing on going to school at the Idaho terminal since its close (SW MT is home).
I know the holiday would put them behind, but i find it odd i lost contact totally. Odd part is its not just swift, there were 2 more i was talking to, and since last Wednesday no response from anyone.

I filled out the online app, talked to the recruiter same day, couple days later I had a date set to attend school. I have a perfectly blank MVR and no criminal record so it might take longer I guess if you have any issues in your background. It also could be your location, I'm out of Chicago and pretty much anyone will hire you out of here.

Good luck! If you've enjoyed your training and have gotten your feet good and wet you're going to love it when you get your own truck.

Nope nothing on my records at all. Clean driving no moving violations since i got my license back in the 70's.
as for criminal record, spotless, had foster kids, trust me if i can pass their background check , this one should be a breeze.
