I would have to fly up,that would be 2 days on a bus for me. Year b4 last I took a bus from lufkin tx to hereford tx and it took me 24 hrs, do they pay anything for. Orientation?

What kind of drug test takes 3 to 4 days to get back... Is there any truth to what is posted in some of these threads about sleeping in a truck on the yard while going through orientation?
Also how is there wellness test sounds like a good company the way you post but I have seen some one here that don't agree. Of course you will find that on most boards about most companies. Don sent me a app the other day just kind of hesitant about filling it out as Co. is a long way to go for a new company that seems to be conserving money. Also I heard you don't get paid for Orientation and they hold two weeks back is this true. Not trying to be negative just trying to find of the facts about this company.Last edited: Feb 13, 2012
Daniel.trawick Thanks this. -
A lot of good questions here and don't worry about sounding negative you are just being straight forward in what you want to know. First off you don't sleep in a truck while in orientation. Don puts you up in the hotel for as long as it takes to get your drug test back. Now as forthe drug test they don't go off the quick reading of it. They want the results that the lab puts out. Paper copy so that takes about two days. IE, you do your drug test on Monday they get the paper copy back on wednesday. Wednesday night your running your first load. Orientation is NOT paid so for the three days you don't get paid for. Not all companies pay orientation and this is one. The first two weeks pay is held. So you work for two weeks on the thrird you get your first pay check and every week from then on. You are right no matter where you look you will see bad and good post about a company. But all in all it is a good one to work for. The orientation but is one of the bad along with two weeks back on pay but after that it is smooth going. This is a very laid back company that the only time you will hear from your FM is when they need help with something or you call them with a problem. Other then that you are left alone to do your thing. Feel free to ask me any questions you have. I am a driver for them and I will not BS you. This should answer your question as well 18kylebuschfan.robthesailor Thanks this. -
thanks for the answers sounds very interesting gives me alot to think about.
-
Yep,most of the companies out there don't pay for orientation. Indian river and tango don't I know. Some companies fly you some dont-i can't ride in a bus for 2 days. I would have to fly to be reimbursed or pay diff.between bus and plane or something. Another company I'm lookin at is high country transport in dallas, wouldn't have to fly or bus just drive up-both have elogs etc but FRE prolly has a little nicer horse, but not the wagon the trls at HCT are brand new an nice with led's an all but that aint everything. Daniel..u seen the 386 petes up close yet? If so how nice are they etc?loaded like the coronados?
-
Ya look at them up close. Not loaded like the freights but still look nice. They have the clean air idle with DEF. also getting hooked up with the electric APU's. The freights have more room then the Pete's but the Pete's come with a 12 speed trans rather the ten speed the freights have. The sleeper of the Pete's look nice but the dash of them are basic.
robthesailor Thanks this. -
They most likely have the black dash instead the wood and only 10 or less gauges with the netting closers overhead instead of wood grained doors. How about a fridge? Inverter? I forgot to ask about direct deposit?
-
Yet nets and let then 10 gauges if I remember right. Black dash. Didn't look for the fridge so can't give you a honest answer there. If I didn't notice I would guess no. The inverter is your APU. With the Pete's having the electric APU your inverter is always on. Unlike the other you only have 120v when the APU is running. Yes they have direct deposit. The Pete's are also double bunk but the top bunk folds in half as is like having a self instead of lifting the top bunk up.
-
Those electric apu's aren't very good especially when it gets over 95 deg. I hope the trk can idle if u need it.
-
They don't have an idle policy yet. Also if you let them know before hand I am sure they will allow it.
