Yes you should be able to go to sleeper berth is the way my husband does it, anytime supervision is not needed. This is esp good at some of the Tyson loads and Sanderson Farm loads when they take forever to load or get ready.

I have no sympathy for running a classic Pete. I am a memeber of ATHS (American Truck Historical Society) and personally run a 1984 Autocar AT64F every day, a truck that is much more rare than a 359 Pete. Simple fact is, if I want to keep running it, I'll have to update the engine.
BTW, if he is so concerned with it being a classic original, my guess is that he will need to take three quarters of the aftermarket chrome off, including the Texas Square bumper and put the mufflers back on.FLATBED and slim shady Thank this. -
I ran into the guy that now owns the 1st NEW truck I ever bought , 1988 W900 60" flattop , he is another " I DRIVE an ORIGINAL CLASSIC".
I showed him a picture of it the day I picked it up new at the KW dealer only thing original is it is the same shade of MARINER BLUE paintAutocar Thanks this. -

so here's how the day went yesterday.
parking at truckstop on thursday at 600 p.m. so the 10 is done. parked for 12 1/2 hours. sat in the sleeper the whole time becuase according to one post in this thread. we're not allowed to buy anything.
left truckstop at 630, arrived at receiver at 645. 3 miles down the road. had to wait till i was told to untarp. then wait again for unload. 1130 left receiver and 1145 arrive at shipper. 5 miles down the highway. 400 finally loaded. 415 strapped and bols in hand.
i've never had to deal with the box so how would that work out??????
10 hours on duty????? 9 1/2 hours on duty and 1/2 drive. you can't log off duty or sleeper becuase you've rolled down the road and your 14 has started. correct. so you've used up 10 hours. do you go drive 4 hours and park in the middle of nowhere. or do you drive as far as you can to the last truckstop. or whatever. then take another 10???? or do you go back to the truckstop and just take another 10 before hitting the road.
cuz that's 30 hours you've spent in a 3 mile radius getting unloaded and reloaded.
not being a smart arse. just asking a simple question. how does that get logged with a box?
yesterday was an unusual day. as we're usually unloaded and gone. reloaded and gone. i think yesterday was the first day i actually spend ALL DAY. -
Here's how my day went yesterday on elogs.
Pretrip at 0930 am. Drove to receiver 20 miles away. Bumped dock and was gone in 15 minutes . If longer I would have put myself in sleeper. Drove 11 miles to social circle GA. Bumped dock and stayed on duty for 15. Told load would be ready in about a hour so I went into sleeper. Got loaded, drove to Tifton GA for fuel, I didn't even need to change duty status because it automatically put me on duty after being stopped for 3 minutes. Fueled and left. Drove straight thru to Lakeland, did my post trip and went home. Total day was roughly 8.5 driving and 1 hour on duty time.
Anyone that sits on duty the entire time for unloading or loading is crazy. You can change any duty status at anytime except when the vehicle is in motion. The stuff is not complicated. -

I'm regional m-f home weekends, But was close to using up my 70 every week and wanting to maybe run one more load and come home on sat. but did not want to run out of hours on the road. -
Just as flatbed said. New drivers will become vets and so on. Elogs may become a way of life who honestly knows. Were not in government offices so we dont know. You guys that want to battle between vets and newb's maybe we should start a thread for that. There are great new drivers out here and a bunch who dont belong behind the wheel of a 63 rusted rambler same with some older vets. Its not a competition between us its a discussion and we all have opinions of what works for individuals. Attitude is everything no matter how long u have been.driving.
FLATBED, bullhaulerswife, d o g and 2 others Thank this.
